Chapter 18

"Jihoon," Seungcheol was wringing his hands nervously with Sooyoung standing at the window, looking at the view. Sooyoung turned around and flashed a warm smile before running to Jihoon.

"So, you're my little brother's boyfriend. You're too good for him. Anyways, I'm Sooyoung," her heart melted as she shook both of Jihoon's hands. Jihoon smiled before catching Seungcheol's expression.

"It's nice to meet you," Jihoon said after Sooyoung finally let go of his hands and turned towards Seungcheol.

"I want to know two things... 1) why you look like you accidentally stepped on Soonyoung's SHINee 1 of 1 album and 2) why you wouldn't respond to any of my texts because I was worried," Jihoon started off strong with the second half being mumbles.

"Alright, so, um, I need you to do a press conference with me because I'm actually the son of that really big Choi corporation thing. I'm not inheriting all of it. Sooyoung is. And, uh, hah, the press need to know if I'm dating anyone or not because apparently some paparazzi followed us around and took pictures of us. I couldn't respond because I was in conferences since, like, 6:00 AM and I just got here and I'm sorry," Seungcheol said at the speed of light with Sooyoung shaking her head pitifully. She felt bad for the younger boy, who was obviously very confused.

"Oh," Jihoon sat down. He was so confused.

"I mean, I can persuade my dad to cancel the press? I know it's a lot to ask in such a short amount of time and we've only been serious for barely a month, but, it's fine. We can cancel it. I'll cancel it," Seungcheol smiled uncomfortably, obviously scared of what his dad or Jihoon would say. Jihoon looked down at his hands before coming to his resolution.

"No. I'll do it. If it's important to your family and your future, then I'll do it. I love you, okay?" Jihoon said, standing up, putting a hand on Seungcheol's cheek, before tearing his eyes away from the large deer-like eyes and walking up the stairs.

"Wait, Ji-," Seungcheol began after the shorter, but Sooyoung caught him by the sleeve.

"Are you dense? You drop that on him and he says he'll do it to save your sorry ass. Obviously, he wants some time alone to intake that he's gonna take on our lifestyle and you want to invade that? Not on my watch," Sooyoung said, texting with one hand and still holding onto Seungcheol. Jeonghan and Mingyu with the rest of their friends burst in the front door.

"Oh, you bitch, by the time I'm done with you," Jeonghan pounced on Seungcheol and started shaking him by the shoulders. Jisoo was about to stop him, but chose not to and Sooyoung shot a look and everybody watched Jeonghan let his anger out.

"You really are an asshole," Jeonghan huffed after getting up and wiping his hands on his pants.

"Okay, I deserved that, but at least help me. Sooyoung wants to kill me too and it's hard being on two assassination lists," Seungcheol grumbled, getting up with Hansol's help.

"Look, obviously, you're a great liar because you hid it from 10 people who you spent all of highschool with, but besides that... I don't know. At least you're a great liar?" Hansol shrugged, trying to help the situation. Soonyoung was eating a croissant while shaking his head.

"Wow, because that's what everyone wants in a relationship. To have a great liar as a boyfriend. Thanks, Hansol," Seungcheol said sarcastically, throwing his $400 blazer on the couch.

"Bitch, how much do you think that's worth?" Seungkwan pulled Minghao over to stare at the article of clothing. Minghao picked it up and felt the fabric between his fingers before finally looking at the label, Armani.

"Shit, this is worth more than I am. Holy fuck. I knew he was loaded, but hoe my god. Plus it's a matching suit. I would say the entire ensemble is at least $800. We haven't accounted for his one earring, what a rebel, that has to be around $200 for that one earring. The shoes must be $300. The watch must be at least $400 He's wearing more than what all 12 of us are worth," Minghao inspected everything remotely connected to Seungcheol's current ensemble.

"Hey, don't degrade yourself. I mean, yeah, you're right," Jisoo gave up half-way.

"Wow, um, can't relate with the rich," Chan lowkey judged from his corner.

"Shut up. Where is Jihoon? You spindly ass bitch, what happened?" Jeonghan interrogated Seungcheol.

"Man, I missed Jeonghan more than I missed you," Sooyoung laughed at Seungcheol without even looking up from her texting.

"Well, he said he'd do the press conference, then he said he loves me, then he went upstairs to his room," Seungcheol explained while Mingyu and Soonyoung proceeded to choke.

"Jihoon, like, Lee Jihoon, like short, had pink hair, now has red, mad 25/8, feisty, said he loves you?" Mingyu croaked out.

"You almost made me drop my croissant," Soonyoung said, still choking.

"Stop it. Why don't you just stop?" Junhui scoffed at the reference to the Vine.

"He said he loves you? Awwwwww, Cheollll, you fucked up real bad this time," Wonwoo cooed, putting his elbow on Soonyoung's shoulder, who was still heaving.

"He should forgive me, right? Like he said he loves me and he is doing it for me? My god, I'm selfish," Seungcheol ran a hand through his styled hair.

"Bitch, you fucking dead. Jihoon's gonna be stressed and he won't eat or sleep and only study before you have to leave. So you better fucking get ready," Soonyoung scoffed, patting the eldest on the shoulder.

"Righty tighty, who's nominated to go look after the brooding shortie? I nominate Soonyoung and Mingyu, because he wouldn't murder those two. I don't think," Seokmin proposed to the group.

"Remember us as heroes. Love you, babe," Mingyu nodded to the group and blew a kiss to Wonwoo as Soonyoung fell in step behind him up the stairs.

"We're never seeing their sorry asses again, right?" Seungkwan asked Hansol.

"Nah, babe," Hansol patted Seungkwan's head before Jeonghan pounced on Seungcheol again.
