It was snowing again, white snow covering the grass outside. Bakugou sat on the bed, watching the snowflakes fall by the window. He watching as his classmates ran around in the snow, throwing snowballs at each other. It kinda made him sad. He knew if he went out there they'd probably make him go back inside anyway.
Falling back onto the bed, Bakugou pulled the blanket over his head. He really wanted to go outside now. Soft footsteps approached the bed, which the blonde knew was Kirishima's. The redhead pulled the blanket off of Bakugou, causing him to curl into himself looking for warmth.
"Katsuki...do you wanna go play in the snow with everyone else? I'll come with you? Yea?" Kirishima asked, sitting down on the bed next to Bakugou. The blonde looked up at Kirishima and frowned. Finals were in 3 days, he didn't understand how everyone was playfully playing in the snow. Bakugou still had no news of his mother, making his anxiety fly through the roof. And there was nothing he could do about it.
"T-They'll make me come back inside anyway...l-lets not." Bakugou answered, turning away from the redhead. He heard a small gasp from behind him, deciding not to look back. What he see will probably make him guilty. Then, two strong arms wrapped around the blondes waist, pulling his back to rest against the others chest. Of course it was Kirishima. They had never really spooned before, they always cuddled while facing each other. Bakugou just guessed he felt safer that way.
"We're gonna go out, you need to get back to normal Katsuki. I know it's hard, but Christmas is coming up. I want you to be happy, m'kay?" Kirishima muttered softly, grabbing one of the blondes hands. Bakugou pulled his hand away from the redhead, rolling over so his face was hidden away in Kirishima's chest. The redhead smiled down at him, tangling their legs together.
"Okay...I'll go o-out..." Bakugou muttered, a smile spreading across Kirishima's face, "Only if you cuddle with me later..." Kirishima agreed to that quickly, pulling the blonde with him off the bed. Time to go have a snowball fight.
After quickly getting ready, Kirishima lead Bakugou outside. Before they turned the corner to where their classmates where, the redhead placed a little kiss on the blondes cheek, muttering a soft 'you'll be okay' for encouragement. At that, the blonde smiled, the two walking out to where there friends were.
"Kirishima! Bakugou! Look who finally decided to join us!" Kaminari said excitedly, running up to the pair. Everyone came running over to them, asking them where they've been and how they were doing. Bakugou was a little overwhelmed, trying his very best to put up his mask. Kirishima watched the blonde carefully, making sure he didn't freak out or start crying or anything. Luckily, he was doing just fine. That alone made the redhead smile.
When all the banter was said and done, Iida announced they were going to start an official snowball fight. There were to be teams of two, Kirishima and Bakugou of course ending up on a team together. As all the other teams ran off the start building a fort or run away, Kirishima grabbed Bakugou's wrist and pulled him around the corner, as far away from their classmates as he could.
"Katsuki...you doing okay?" Kirishima asked, getting a soft nod from the blonde. The redhead took these few moments to observe the blonde. His hair was a little messy, his nose, cheeks and ears tinted pink from the cold. He was bundled up in a coat, scarf, and a pair of Kirishima's mittens. He looked adorable.
"Come Eijirou, let's go kick their asses." The blonde said confidently, pulling the redhead along. When they found a good spot, they sat down, and began building their fort. It was a lot of effort, Kirishima soon giving in and using his quirk to his advantage. He could lift huge piles of snow without even blinking an eye.
Just as the two finished their fort, a loud battle cry was heard. Bakugou peaked his head over the edge of the fort to see Iida and Midoriya aggressively throwing snowballs at each other, both using their quirks as an advantage. The blonde chuckled, looking down at Kirishima.
"Ready baby boy?" Kirishima teased, making the small blonde blush. Chuckling, the redhead handed the blonde a few snowballs. Time to kick some ass. The blonde peaked up over the edge of their fort, rapid firing them at all people in sight. Kirishima decided to join the blonde, throwing as many snowballs as he possibly could. Kirishima watched the blonde the whole time, a smile on his face. Bakugou was acting like himself again. It could just be a mask, but that was okay for now. He was letting himself go for a bit, having fun with his classmates. It was a sight Kirishima would never get tired of.
After maybe an hour or so of fighting, Kirishima and Bakugou were given the victory. The blonde was extremely ecstatic about this, making the taller giggle. This was a nice break for Bakugou. Saying their goodbyes, the blonde and redhead headed back to their room. When the door was closed and locked, the two pulled off their winter gear, still covered in snow. As Bakugou put the last of his clothes in the pile, Kirishima lunged forward, pulling the blonde into a tight hug.
"I'm so proud of you. Even with all the stress and pain, you're still my happy confident Katsuki. I promise that I'll make this your best Christmas ever, so that you can go back to being yourself as quickly as possible. I love you, okay? Don't ever forget that." Kirishima told the blonde, feeling a pair of strong arms wrap around him. A small sniffle was heard, alarming the redhead. He then relaxed, the blonde looking up at him with a soft smile. Those were happy tears.
"T-These are happy tears, I-I'm okay...Eijirou...t-thank you and...I-I love you too."
