*Slight trigger warning here i'll just say that now*

Kirishima and Bakugou were walking side by side, hands intertwined. Bakugou had told the redhead he's never been to a cafe before, the taller shocked. He had promised his boyfriend that he'd take him, and now, the next day, he was. It was cold out, both boys bundled up in warm winter clothing. It was extremely peaceful, being on Christmas break. That meant they got to leave whenever they wanted.

"Oi Eijirou, when we get there can we sit in the corner?" Bakugou asked out of the blue. The other turned to him, nodding. There was probably something that he wanted to talk about. They finally arrived at the small cafe Kirishima had picked, opening the door to the place. It was decorated extremely well, christmas music playing in the background. A cute cafe, with not a lot of people, perfect. Kirishima grabbed Bakugou's hand, pulling them to the counter so they could both order something.

"Can I have h-hot chocolate?" Bakugou asked, getting a nod from the redhead. Kirishima ordered two hot chocolates, getting them at the counter a few minutes later. Grabbing his boyfriends hand, Bakugou dragged him to a table in the back corner. He wanted to tell Kirishima what was going on.

"Katsuki, are you okay?" Kirishima asked, both of them sitting down at a table. Bakugou just shook his head, taking a sip of his hot chocolate.

"No u-um...my moms condition g-got worse...sorry for not telling y-you Eijirou." The blonde muttered, turning away from his boyfriend. A small gasp left the others mouth, a frown settling on his face. Kirishima knew how hard this was for Bakugou, and just knowing his moms condition got worse broke his heart. It was almost Christmas too. He wanted Bakugou to be happy while they sat under the tree, opening gifts and listening to Christmas music. Bakugou didn't need to shed anymore tears. There were too many that were shed this holiday season.

"Katsuki. We need to visit her. You really need to see her." The blonde nodded in response, Kirishima wasting no time. They picked up their drinks, the redhead grabbing ahold of his boyfriends hand as they walked from the cafe to the hospital.

Bakugou was silent the whole way there. He knew as soon as he saw his mother, he was going to cry. He was happy he was going to have Kirishima at his side the whole time. That's probably why he put off visiting her. Seeing her just meant he was going to cry. The blonde was pulled from his thoughts as they approached the entrance, Kirishima squeezing his hand lightly. With the redhead at his side, he knew he could do anything.

After around half an hour of waiting, getting permission to see Mrs. Bakugou, and attempting to find the room, they finally made it. Bakugou and Kirishima stood in front of the room, the redheads hand on the doorknob. He only hesitated because Bakugou was shaking. Kirishima turned to his partner, and smiled assuringly. He knew they could do this. Pushing the the door open, what the redhead saw instantly made him regret his decision. Bakugou's mother lay in the hospital bed, a few wires attached to her. No one else was in the room, a steady beeping noise coming from one of the machines. As for the blonde women laying in the bed, her eyes were closed, her breathing labored and uneven. Bakugou choked, tears welling in his eyes.

"M-mom?" Bakugou squeaked, pulling Kirishima with him to sit next to his mothers bed. It was an awful sight really, for both the blonde and the redhead. Kirishima knew the blonde women, so it also hurt him to see her like this. No where near the level on which it hurt his boyfriend, but it still hurt.

"Katsuki? Is that you?" She spoke, her voice weak and shakey. A few tears slipped down the blondes face, letting go of his boyfriends hand to give his mother a hug. Kirishima felt tears fill his own eyes, willing them to go away.

"O-oh mom... I-m s-so sorry I d-didn't come s-see you b-before..." The blonde muttered, leaned back to sit back on the couch. Kirishima took the blondes hand in his own, running his thumb over the other boys knuckle. The redhead zoned out as the two blondes talked, thinking he shouldn't really get into their business. That was until he heard a small sob leave his boyfriends lips.

"I know this sickness will probably kill me, sooner or later. I decided to get surgery now rather than later. The success rate is even 60%. I think if this goes well, I can live another 20 years, give or take." That was all the redhead heard, making a few tears escape his own eyes. That wasn't good. Bakugou let out another sob, turning to hug his boyfriend. Pain. That's all this was. There were 3 days left til Christmas, but all the two boys felt now was sadness.

"I'll be having my surgery Christmas day. You two don't need to worry about me anymore, I'm sure I'll do just fine. Now...I'm due for a check up soon, so I sugget you two head back to school. Aizawa may be looking for you." Bakugou's mom said, a huge smile on her face. Kirishima forced himself to smile too, putting an arm around his blonde boyfriend and pulling him to his feet. It was time they went.

"B-before I go m-mom...I l-love you." Bakugou murmmered softly, wiping a few tears from his eyes.

"I love you too Katsuki, have a wonderful Christmas. I'll see you soon." She responsed, watching the two boys leave. Bakugou was huddled into his boyfriends side as they walked out, Kirishima turning around one more time to look at the blonde before he closed the door. She mouthed something to him, making more tears come to his eyes.

'I don't think I'll make it. Take care of him Eijirou.'
