The pair spent the whole day lying in bed, just talking about whatever came to their minds. Of course, they did take occasional breaks. At around eleven, Bakugou fell asleep, utterly exhausted, both emotionally and physically. Kirishima lay there, holding the small blonde to his chest. He ran his fingers through the others puffy blonde hair, hoping it offered his fiance some sense of comfort. Before the redhead knew it, he was deep asleep.
The next morning, Kirishima was woken by the soft sunlight coming through the windows. It was nice to wake up to the birds chirping outside the window. It was peaceful. Something the redhead couldn't find a lot of nowadays. He knew and understood why, but every now and then, he needed peace. Peering down at the blonde in his arms, he frowned. Maybe Bakugou would sleep for a little while longer. Kirishima decided to get up, having no problem prying the blonde from his torso. A small walk would clear his head, and make it much easier to help his distraught fiance.
As Kirishima left the dorm, he instantly walked by Todoroki. He and Midoriya weren't at the gathering on Christmas day, so he hadn't seen him in a while.
"Todoroki!" He called, chasing after the half-headed boy. Todoroki turned around, smiling when he saw the boy running towards him.
"Good to see you Kirishima. How's it been going lately? I haven't seen you in a while." Todoroki asked, the two now walking side by side. The redhead then took the time to think about the last 5 days. All of it was a whole rollercoaster of emotions, and he was having a hard time coming to terms with what happened. Telling Todoroki would probably help him a lot.
"A lot has happened...do you think we could talk about it? I need to get a few things off my chest if that's okay with you of course." Kirishima asked, his cheeks pink in embarrassment. The other boy agreed, the two heading towards the common room. While they were walking, Kirishima let his thoughts wander. So much had happened, and there was still so much to happen. He wasn't ready for the future, and honestly, he'll never be, but he had Bakugou at his side now. They were technically going to be together forever now.
Once they arrived in the common's Todoroki sat down, the redhead following. At first, Kirishima didn't know where to start. No one knew about Bakugou's mother being sick, let alone her being...gone. As long as he kept his voice down, he knew he could tell his friend.
"Well...halfway through December, Katsuki's mother became extremely ill. That's why he really wasn't himself for the longest time. He would just...stay inside, and cry. He wouldn't do anything he normally did. It took him a little while, but he did get better. He was...extremely happy for that small bit of time. On Christmas Day, I decided that maybe I should...propose...so I did. That was the happiest I've ever seen him. I knew...that s-she wasn't going to make it. That night...she left us. He just broke. Todoroki...I don't know what to do. He's broken and I can't do anything to fix it..." Kirishima let his heart speak for him. Todoroki listened, noting all the small details.
"Kirishima...why didn't you or Bakugou tell anyone? That's so hard for him...and you. So he was crying during the exams...Kirishima...I can try my best to help you. Also...congradulations on your engagment...you sap." Todoroki said, his eyes sparkling. A smile spread across the redheads face. He was grateful for the amazing friends he's met in this school.
"Thank you Todoroki...now uhh...what should I do first?" The redhead asked, looking at Todoroki. At first, the other didn't respond. Kirishima guessed he was thinking, as he waited patiently. Todoroki's face then lit up, turning to the redhead.
"You really should just show Bakugou that you're there, and it's okay that he's hurt. If something like that happened to you or me...I think we'd be in the same spot as him. You just need to think of what he must be feeling...empathy. I know he'll be okay, with you at his side. He's a strong guy. I'm sure he'll turn out just fine. If you ever need to talk to me again just come to find me, okay?" Todoroki told the redhead, a slight smile on his face. As they were talking, Midoriya had come down the stairs, one of Todoroki's sweaters covering his whole body like a dress.
"Shouto, Kirishima! Good morning guys! What's going on?" The green-headed boy came to join them, sitting down next to his boyfriend. Kirishima whispered a greeting to the other as he tried to process Todoroki's advice.
"I was just talking to Kirishima about something. Is it okay if I tell Izuku?" Todoroki asked, getting an immediate nod from the redhead. The other boy leaned over and whispered it into the smaller boys ear. Midoriya gasped, turning to look Kirishima in the eyes.
"Why didn't you say anything? I could tell Kacchan wasn't his normal self, but I didn't wanna push it." Midoriya asked, the redhead frowning.
"He really didn't want anyone else to know how he was feeling. Katsuki is good at keeping secrets, I'm surprised he even let me know...he would cry so much out of nowhere and it would just...break my heart. He begged me not to tell anyone. I'm sorry I didn't say anything sooner...but I needed to respect his privacy." Kirishima explained head hung low. He couldn't believe he didn't say anything. Their classmates could have helped. Letting out a quiet sigh, the redhead stood up, saying his goodbyes and heading back to his dorm. He needed to tell Bakugou how much he cared and that he would be there for him no matter what happened. He knew his and the blondes future was going to be tough, but they could face it side by side.
When Kirishima arrived back at his dorm, he stood in front of the door briefly. He heard the blonde inside scream something, something that broke his heart so much it could probably never be fixed.
"Why the fuck did she have to go?! How is that f-fucking fair to ME! GOD DAMN IT, I FUCKING HATE THIS HELL HOLE! CAN I JUST DIE ALREADY?!" At that last sentence, Kirishima burst through the door, taking Bakugou by suprise
"You don't mean that Katsuki...please..." Those were the only words to leave the redheads mouth as his fiance stood there lifelessly.
"N-No...I don't...life's just...u-unfair." Bakugou muttered, walking slowly over to the taller boy. Kirishima frowned, opening his arms to the blonde. Not wasting a moment, Bakugou ran into his lovers embrace, letting himself be held close.
"Katsuki. This...This is super tough for you, and I do agree that this world is super unfair for taking your mother away. She was such a wonderful woman, and I loved her too. It's okay that you're hurt, and you need to know that. This whole process might take forever, but even if it does, I'll be here through all of it. I love you so much, and there is nothing you could do, or someone else could do to make me feel otherwise. I will always be here to support you, no matter how long it takes. Nothing, and I mean nothing, could get in the way of that. After all, I proposed. You're stuck with me." Kirishima tried the best he could to explain how much he cared. But honestly, he couldn't put it into words. He loved the blonde too much.
"I-I...Eijirou...y-you...I don't deserve you...I love y-you so fucking m-much..."
"I love you too, now, cuddles and a movie?"
"Y-yea..."
