Hospital- Chapter 3

This was the day her life took a turn for the worst. As was said she had taken to cutting the inside of her thighs. On this fatal day her addiction brought her to the limits that she should never have experienced. She let it take her to far she took the shiny new blade and slid it down the soft skin on the inside of her leg too deep too large too far.This time she couldn't stop that blood from running; thick and heavy the blood ran her tears seeped out as she smiled at the relief running through her body. Not thinking anything of the amount of blood seeping she dressed her wound and went to school. An hour later walking from one class to the next Maddy felt the low blood level it; she became dizzy, nausea waves, hazy blurred eyesight and the pain shot through the leg. Next thing anyone knew Maddy was on the floor unconscious Teachers check her body over slowly rolling up her trouser leg spotting the old dry bloody covering her leg; the fresh new blood dripping down from higher up the teachers realised what they had and immediately called the ambulance.

Maddy woke up with a sore headband blurry vision. In the distance, she could hear voices couldn't make out who or what they were saying just hear the noise. Next to her ear was the beeping of the machines; their wires leading out to attach to different parts of the body. In her arms were little needles that lead to blood bags, medication bags and water bags hung up on hooks next to her bed. She lays there listening to the noise around her letting her eyelids slowly slip shut again.

Next time she awakes she hears auguring she's laying on her side away from the voices not shouting but in hushed tones enough that she can still hear what they are saying. She recognizes the voices straight away they are Charlie and his girlfriend what the hell was they doing here. Well Charlie, although showed no care towards Maddy, actually deep down still cared she was still a big part of his past whether it hurt or not he loved her like a sister. Maddy stayed as still as possible so didn't know she had awoken and listened to what they were arguing about; she wishes she never had.

Charlie's girlfriend was angry he had come to visit Maddy; through closed teeth hissing her displeasure that Maddy was a nothing girl and that Charlie was hers not the pathetic girl in the bed. Charlie's angry reply came of he did it out of respect he could never care for the girl she's too pathetic; I came to keep our parents happy to say I had visited so stop getting angry with me. She heard angry foot thumps walking around and a softer set walking up to her. In her ear she hears Charlie whisper "why did you have to do this? Your so selfish, you don't care about how it would affect anyone else" and he walked away from her; Charlie knew she shouldn't allow it to affect her but it her eyes started welling up and the back of her throat was dry. As she lay there in that hospital tears rolling her mind could only think of one thing to do and it wasn't the good way out of this.

This is where Maddy's life hits the lowest point it can go when they finally realised she needed help because what she did next should never be done by anyone. She found the sharpest object she could in the room; unbelievably for a hospital, there were far too many sharp objects.She took it to the soft pale skin of her arms and etched these words"I'm sorry this is my goodbye". Pulled her shirt slowly up and took the sharp object and pierced the skin between her breast and slowly pulled it down to just above her belly button leaving a ruby red trail behind it. Ripping her tubes out and her feeds out she pushed the machine over and with her final ounce of energy she curled up with tears running down her cheeks leaving a crystal clear listening trail. Slowly thehospital room started to fade out and the world went black and her eye lids slid shut; she thought this would be her end.
