Charlie- Chapter 6

Maddy didn't know it at the time but this would be the day that would make her the strongest person in that University; emotionally will make her future better then her past. Today was the day Charlie would try to make Maddy's life hell.

This day started off well Maddy got ready the same as the day before and headed to university. She sat in her first class waiting for the lecture to start. Out the corner of her eye she saw Charlie walk in with his girlfriend on his arm. She saw the dirty look they both gave her, and both raise an eyebrow at each other. As Charlie walked past Maddy heard him and his arm candy spit the words "coward" at her. Maddy reacted the only way she knew at that time and cracked a laugh because inside her head she could only think how she wasn't the coward in all this.

The lectures went on for a couple of more hours then it was lunch hour for Maddy. Maddy went up to the café on this university site. This is where Charlie decides to make his appearance with his other half as always attached to his arm. Maddy spots them and roles her eyes and carries on eating. She notices him head towards her; she tenses up but not from nerves and not scared but readying herself for the fight that was about to come.

The snide voice of Charlies arm parrot "so you dared to share your face back in this building after your attention seeking". Maddy chuckled to herself and looked between the couple "yeah oh yeah I did but too be honest I don't think people are looking at me as much as they are the orange wotsit attached to your arm Charlie". Both there faces dropped and Charlies other half vocally growled in her throat. Charlie deciding to pipe up angrily chips in "Don't you dare talk to my girl like that when you look like that you coward". Again, Maddy couldn't help but laugh at how pathetic these two and their insults were slowly standing she adds "look like what Charlie like I can show emotion like I slipped up, yeah I made a mistake but only because I loved and cared too much at least I show real emotion and truly loved our best friend or did you forget about him. Oh, and coward come on you could do better than that". Going to turn away she felt Charlies hand catch her arm and hold tight pulling her towards him. Shaking her head, she pulls out his grasp and faces him nose to nose. Charlies taut voice comes out "Don't you ever dear say I forgot him I loved him like a brother. Why would he ever want someone as depressive and fucked up as you to be the one remembering him. Now run along little bitch". This threw Maddy over the edge of hysterics slightly shoving his shoulders and laughing in his face Maddy retaliates with "so who was the one every year who went to visit his grave and laid flowers down. Who was the one who helped pay for the headstone. Who say him every other day for the first couple of days and makes sure his grave is kept clean and tidy. You never did a thing for him after he passed; you have no reason to upset over it. And yes I may have these scars but if I remember correctly Danny would have rather us show emotion and show how we cared for him then show no emotion at all. If I also remembered correctly he would have wanted us to have sticked together me and you but I guess that would never have happened. I'm done with you Charlie." She smiled at the struck look on his face as she turned on her heel and walked away. 

She had overcome her sadness, her depression, she was still fighting and still standing she wasn't a coward she never was she was a soldier in her own life. Yes she had scars on her body but they tell story and who she is.
