Chapter 3: Jen's Return

The clock read 1:03pm exactly two more hours left until I was up and out of classes.

"Hey brat" I turned to face a tall male student standing near my desk, "are you dumb? That's my seat you're in."

I ignored him, obviously he was trying to get attention and annoy me. "I'm talking to you!" He grabbed me by the shirt pulling me to my feet.

"please get your hands off me" he only laughed staring at me with his black irises, "who's going to make me?"

I grabbed his arm twisting it behind him freezing it behind his back"I warned you."

It was only then that I realized what I had done, I glanced around to see everyone staring at me with utter horror in their eyes.

"Miss Erendel Emery" I opened my eyes realizing I had fallen asleep once more, in embarrassment I looked at Mr. Froncer who was looking down at me.

"Miss Eren" I would appreciate if you stayed with us.

My cheeks flushed slightly sitting up while the other kids around me laughed.

"Silence now, as I was saying" Mr. Froncer continued walking back to the front of the class holding out some papers to each row, "Our next test is this Friday, I need this packet done by next Thursday understood?"

Everyone nodded, as I was  relieved that it had only been a  dream.

Glancing around I noticed Gabriel watching me his eyes fixed on me as if he were stalking me.

I couldn't help to think he was up to something, maybe if I got to know him better.. I paused what if he found out about my secret..?

His eye's wouldn't leave me, his gaze making me feel more nervous, "Gabriel could you help me with this" the girl next to him distracted him making him turn to look at Hanna.

There was something strange about him, he knew something and I had to find out sooner or later.

The door bell rings.

"I'll get it" Mother's foot steps could be heard down stairs as she walked to open the door.

"Jen hello it's nice to see you again!"

I froze.. Jen..

"Hello Roan it's nice to see you aswell, and Eren?"

"come in I'll call her right down"

I took a deep breath feeling nervous now "Eren come jen is here to see you" I heard mother say from behind the door.

"I'll be right down" I stood up walking downstairs in my pajamas, well my sweat pants and t-shirt to be exact.

My long black hair covering the marks and scars of my practice workouts that I didn't expect to get.

"Erendel"

I stopped in front of them placing my hands in my pockets, "Hello Jen it's been a while, what brings you back?"

My voice came out calm eyeing her from head to toe, she was different her eyes still the same green, yet her hair was dark brown that came down to her shoulder.

"I wanted to apologize for leaving you Eren."

I slightly nodded, giving a smile knowing she had changed, she wasn't the same person I had met.. She was fake in a way that made me feel uncomfortable.

"I.." I paused "It is fine.. the past stays in the past."

I gazed at her while she eyed me.  "Great" She smiled nudging me playfully.

I leaned against the wall looking at the ground with a soft sigh knowing this return of hers wouldn't be so good, since that would mean being by her side our last senior year.
