^^Rendy^^

||Tevan||

The café was a bit busy this afternoon, but it wasn't so bad since Takkie's little brother, Rendy, was helping out. I knew she had a brother but I assumed he was the only sibling she has, turns out she has two brothers. Rendy is the youngest in her family at the age of 16 years old and then her other brother, Maanda, is the oldest at the age of 37 years old.

I've not met the older brother, even though he picks her up every week, he never comes inside the café. And I only met Rendy today, he is a typical teenage boy, always on his phone and not paying attention to people around him. He comes off as rude but Takkie says he's actually a very nice kid, just going through a phase.

When they walked in this morning, Takkie gave me a hug and wished me a merry Christmas(even though she sent me a text on the day), Rendy walked in with his eyes glued to his phone, he looked up at me for a few seconds before looking back at his phone without sparing me a word.

Right now we're busy with the afternoon rush and I was feeling a little fatigued and my stomach was eating at me, I haven't had anything to eat today. My meals have been consisting of two apples a day, and now my apples are finished so today I don't have a lunch to eat.

After a couple of hours of work, the place became less crowded and I had time to sit down and rest a bit in the back. As I'm sitting in the back, Takkie comes in with a plate of that has a bran muffin on it with an apple and Coffee. She places the food in front of me and tell me to enjoy before walking away. How does she know that Bran muffins and Mango juice are my favourite?  I don't dwell on the thoughts as I eat the food slowly so it feels like it's a lot.

As I'm eating the apple, my mind drifts to Steve. He is supposed to come over to the café around 6pm, I don't even know what I'm going to say to him.

After eating I go back to the front and find that more customers had walked in and Rendy was serving them. I take out my small notepad from my apron's pocket and walk towards a customer that hasn't been served yet then going to hand Takkie the order for preparation. The rest of the day went smoothly and I didn't even feel the hours pass.

"Hi." I stiffen at his voice and turn around, leaving the cloth I was using to clean the counter, to look at him. He looks different, his normally shaved face was now bearded and I must say, it did him justice. And unlike on a normal day, today he's decked in blue jeans and a white sweater with a cute teal scarf around his neck.

"H-hi.", I feel like my heart is racing a thousand miles a second, why am I feeling so nervous? I start feeling awkward with the silence that grows between us. "Uhm, have a sit. What would you like to have?" I ask after I was behind the counter.

"A jumbo coffee with one cinnamon donut" he says and his voice sounds so groggy, as if he has a cold.

"Okay, your oder will be right up." I turn to walk to the back to make his food, but his hand clasps around my upper arm and I stiffen before he lets go quickly as if he knew my nerves were sky rocketing with fear when he touched me.

"Can we sit down and talk?" His eyes were pleading with me, and then I take notice of the small patch of brown in his left eye. His eyes are so beautiful, I nod towards a booth in the corner.

"O-okay, go sit over there. I'll come join you when I bring your order" I walk into the back after that and make his order while my hands quiver with nerves. After I finish pouring the coffee and plating the donut, I take a deep sigh and walk out the kitchen and towards the booth he is sitting at. I place his order in front of him and take a seat across from him and look up to find he's looking at me.
