Daniel's POV
I slowly open my eyes to find white lights shining down on me. My eyes find their way to adjust to the brightness before I realize I'm in a hospital room. I then notice that my entire body aches and there are wire and tubes everywhere. I feel someone holding onto my hand. I can't turn my head to see who it is so I squeeze my hand.
"Daniel?" I hear some girl say. "Daniel!?" Someone stands up beside me and leans over to look at me. I blink up at the person a couple of times and notice then that there are tears falling from her eyes. "Oh my gosh! Daniel! You are awake!!" She presses a button on the side of my bed and another lady comes rushing and asks a couple of questions.
"Daniel, can you hear me?" I groan in response. "Squeeze my hand please." I squeeze her hand and the nurse takes the oxygen off of my face. "Can you talk?" The nurse asks.
"A-a-a little," I manage to stutter out.
"I'm going to get the doctor. Here are some ice cubes. I need to you let these melt in your mouth. It will help with the swelling in your throat. Okay?" the nurse asked while handing me a cup with ice in my good hand.
"Okay," I reply and put an ice cube in my mouth.
The nurse left and I was left with the strange lady in my room.
"Daniel! I can't believe you are awake! Destiny -"
"Who?" I ask.
"Destiny... The girl that was driving when you wrecked," the lady said with a look of shock on her face.
"I was in a car accident? I-I don't remember that."
"D-do you remember me?" she said while tearing up.
"N-no. I-I'm sorry," I reply.
"It's okay... Just, wait on the doctor to come in. Eat the ice." I nodded and put another piece of ice in my mouth.
Andy's POV
No. No. NO. NO!! This isn't happening! Wake up Andy! Wake up!
The nurses rush past me and push me out of the room.
"CLEAR!" I hear one of them yell. I then hear the steady beeping of the heart monitor again. I slide down the wall and sob into my knees.
I finally pull myself back together and go back into the room. I sit in the chair next to Destiny's bed, and I softly sing Saviour. I lay my head on top of our intertwined hands and doze off.
