The thunder and lightning outside my cabin, caused the erg to shout at Zeus to shut up, to soon become reality. But as I refused to open my eyes to do so, I shifted uncomfortably in my bed, praying that sleep would come soon, to ease my restless, thoughtful mind.
After a while though I gave up, and as my eyes fluttered open, I saw Nico standing in the shadows. I frowned and turned to my light, only it didn't work. I sighed and went to grab some matches but his cold hands stopped my movements. "I am real Percy."
I turned to Nico, and slowly he drew his hand away. "Shouldn't you be asleep." "I can't sleep." Was his reply; and as I moved over, I patted the spot besides me. He sat besides me tense as a statue, and I bit my lip, a smile graced my lips.
"How long have you been in my cabin?" I spoke. He turned to face me and as he did, the butterflies danced in my stomach. "A few minutes." I nodded and as I noticed blood on his hands, I ran my thumb across his knuckles raising it to my face.
"What happened?" He gently removed my hand and clenched his hand into fist before the shadows brushed against the wound and when they drew away it healed. "How did you do that?" "The same way you use water to heal yourself." He spoke. I nodded weakly and bit my lip.
I hated how we spoke and the fell back into awkward silence a few minutes, but as I turned to face him, he caught my gaze. "Nico what truly happened on Olympus." He tensed once again, so much so I think he wasn't breathing. "Nothing Percy." "Neeks please tell me."
"I can't Percy, it's confidential." I turned to face him, hoping that he would but when I saw the sincerity in his eyes, I bit my lip. "You think they would tell me if I asked." "If they did Percy, you would not like what you they say." I frowned.
"What's that suppose to mean?" "Exactly how it sounds." He spoke. "Nico..." "Please just drop it Percy I can not say." I frowned once again, and as I searched his face, I bit my lip. "Just tell me this, if I found out what it was, would it effect us?"
"Most likely." He spoke. "Would it be good or bad?" "Depends." He spoke looking away in fear. "Can you only answer me in one word?" "Yes." He spoke mischievously. I chuckled softly, looking down and as the thunderstorm outside slowly eased, I ended up talking to him about many things.
But slowly my eyes began to shut and before I knew it I fell asleep. But not enough to feel him swipe away that tear slipped down my face. His cold fingers brushed it away and as I shifted he tensed once again. But as I shuffled to get comfy...
I rolled onto my side slowly snuggling up to him. But in that moment, I heard no heartbeat from him, but right now I didn't question it. I was to tired to do so. And as my mind began to drift the darkness of slumber drew closer and closer to me...
