We want to first apologize to everyone for the delay in getting these announcements up. We wanted to make sure that we had all of the judges scores (there are eight) and we wanted to triple check to make sure that all of the scores were accurate. The scoring was so close in all of the categories with sometimes only a half a point separating who moved on. 

                          
We want to thank everyone who participated in the first round. We read some incredible stories and we hope that you gained new readers from just being nominated. Round one nominations will remain in the reading list for those interested in reading all of the other books that were nominated.

There are many new writers who join Wattpad and have trouble finding an audience. This award will recognize the best stories that have less 5,000 views. They are what we considered "undiscovered gems." Their books are good and they just need for readers to give them a chance. (Is this a story that I think should be more popular on Wattpad?
