Blood Moon

Chapter 8

About a dozen people enter the small concrete room. I'm saved! Someone actually came for me! That's when I realise, the lifeless girl is still in my arms, her blood covering my face and hands. I drop the body and start to back away from the group and crouch down ready to pounce. They hate me now, they're going to attack me. "Bella it's okay, we know you couldn't help it." Alice whispers taking a step forward and I let out a low hiss.

"Mummy please stop." Fi whispers as he pushes to the front of the group. He's okay? I thought he was dead for sure, and he called me mummy, he's never called me mummy before. I straighten up and run to him engulfing him in a hug. I freeze for a second when I realise he has no heart beat. He's a vampire, an immortal child. I'm sure Aro can make one exception, I can't let him get killed. I didn't realise I was crying until he wiped the tears from my face.

We were all home safe, thank god. Carlisle had an old tracker friend who he contacted to help find us and they did. Dr Oliver was in the basement with three strong chains wrapped around him. He appears human but we're not 100 percent sure so we didn't want to take any chances. Carlisle didn't want to hurt this guy but to get answers he had to. Dr Olivers screams fill the whole house, advanced hearing definitely doesn't help.  I couldn't stand his screams, I had to leave the house. "I'm gonna go let Sam know that I'm back and probably hunt." I mutter, I know everyone in the house heard me and they let me go, I could tell Alice wanted to come but she couldn't come past the treaty line so there was no point.

As soon as I am off the last porch step I phase. I take off towards the treaty line, Sam already knows I'm coming and him and the whole pack are there when I arrive. Everyone phases back and I am engulfed in a group hug. "Bella were so glad you're home safe," Sam says and I tell them everything that happened.

After I get hunting out of the way I go back home, our whole family spends most of our time here so we just decided to move in, the house was big enough for all of us so it wasn't a problem and I got to spend more time with Alice so I didn't mind. "Hey, come with me, I have a surprise." Alive murmurs and I follow her to her Porsche. "Where are we going?" I ask getting in the passengers side. "I can't tell you it's a surprise." She laughs evilly and I groan. I hate surprises and she knows it.

The drive is short, she stops out the front of a small restaurant on the edge of town. "Alice, I don't think this is a good idea. What if I attack someone?" She just shakes her head at me. "Trust me you won't. Plus there's only 3 people inside, it's not a popular restaurant but I know you'll love it." She says as she opens my door for me. "Fine." I groan.

I order mushroom ravioli and Alice does too not that she intends on eating it. She got it for me because she knows I have a big appetite like the rest of the wolves. The waiter keeps winking at Alice and I lowly growl. My throat was growling and all my instincts told me to attack but I don't. Alice holds my hand under the table and squeezes them for reassurance. After I eat both plates I food, which was delicious, we leave.

Our drive home was interrupted by me receiving a phone call from Aro. "Hello?" I ask and somoene immediately answers. "How fast can you get to Voleterra? We need you as quick as possible. Everyone is hurt badly." It was Demetri. "- is dead." Is the last thing I hear before he hangs up. Who is dead? I didn't hear because it cut out. Oh god. I hope everyone is okay and we don't lose anyone else.
