Wednesday May 26

I woke up, to the sound of chirping birds, and the sun was shining through my curtains. I got up and got dressed, and put on jean shorts, and a horse T-shirt that said "Be Free, And Be Beautiful" With my black converse. I walked down stairs and did the same daily routine. I then went outside and got onto the bus. I sat alone quietly on the 12 minute drive to school. Once we finally arrived I walked inside the class and ran to my locker. The bell had already rang when I was getting my Chemistry, French, Art, and Algebra books, and my binder of papers and ran down the hallway. Apparently I wasn't paying attention and bumped into the most popular, and smartest boy in 8th grade. Noah Longfield. I fell to the ground and dropped my books, and binder as papers fell out. I saw that Noah had hit a locker which had saved his fall. Noah walked up to me and I stared at him. We both locked each other's eyes, which seemed to go on forever. He finally helped me up and said, "You okay?" "Yeah. I'm fine." I said wiping the dirt off of my shorts, and some off of my shirt. I bent down to get my papers, and books and Noah helped me. I Guess Noah isn't such a big jerk. I thought. "Thank you." I said, walking away quickly since I had made me and Noah much later to class. I walked into my classroom and my teacher had already started the French lesson.
~After School At Hooves at Hearts~
I burst into the Hooves at Hearts shelter, and said Hi to Dr. Mike and Lori. "Hey." Lori said, cleaning a old horses, Hooves. "I figured out what I was going to name the new horse." I said smiling. "What is it?" Lori asked cheerfully. "Domino!" I said, happy with my answer. "He kind of does look like a domino." Lori said laughing to herself. I walked into the stalls and saw Domino. "Hey, boy." I said petting his nose. I opened his stall gate and he galloped out, and ran into the backyard. He galloped around the yard, and I could practically feel him moving the floor, and could hear the pounding of Dominos hooves. Domino finally stopped galloping around the yard and took a drink out of a barrel that we had outside. "Lori?" I asked her looking over and her placing the horses leg down. "Yeah, Kiddo?" She asked walking over to me. "Can I try to train Domino?" I asked. "I think he really trusts me." I said, adding something that would change her mind if she was saying no. "I don't know. She is considered a wild horse, and she may get out of control." Lori said, walking towards the horse she was just cleaning the hooves of. "Please? You can watch me to make sure I don't get hurt!" I said, sounding unhappy. Lori finally gave in and said, "Yes." And sighed. I first pumped in the air, and grabbed the rope off of the fence post. Lori helped me tie it around her neck, and we lead her to the training area (A.K.A play pen). First I tried to put the saddle, bit, and tried to put on the bridle on, but he kept nipping at it, snorting, and rearing. I decided to put it on myself to see if it fit, and to see if I snorted and reared. Nope. Anyways, I figured out that he would let me put it on him if he was rewarded something. First I whispered Lori my idea. Maybe if Domino was rewarded something he would let us put the saddle, bit, and bridle on him. I whispered. Yeah. Good idea kiddo, we could demonstrate it with another horse that likes them. Lori said, giving us a good idea. Lori went to get a horse that was used to putting on saddles, bits, and bridles on so we get the gear on Domino. Soon Lori arrived with Brownie, a brown horse (obviously) and had a bag with apples, and carrots. Lori lead Brownie in front of Domino and put on the saddle first, and once Brownie was comfortable with it on and kept it on, she gave Brownie a green apple. I went over to Domino and it took a couple of tried before Domino understood that if he let us put the gear on that he would get a treat. Smart right? After we got all the gear on, and we were sure Brownie wasn't exploding with what she ate, we attached a lead to Dominos bridle and gave him commands. We did the same thing that we did with Brownie and Domino to do the commands but except not with Brownie because we were sure she was going to explode into a red and green blob of apples. After training her with commands like sit, lay, treat, and more I had to go home. "Bye, Lori." I say, hugging her. "Bye, Coco." (Coco is Nicole's nickname) Lori says, hugging me back. I wave at Lori and lead Domino into his stall. "Domino, I will see you tomorrow, okay boy? I will miss you. Be good." I say, giving him a big kiss and a bit of some of my apple from lunch today. While Domino was munching away happily away, I ran out of the stall/barn and waved one last time at Lori before running through the gate and back home.
