40| Savouring

****"Stop staring at my ass" I mumbled into the pillow, deciding to hug it longer than I should have. Even though I was half asleep, I could feel the heat on my lower back - and that wasn't just from the morning sun.
"It's just there..." I heard him say next to me. His body pressed closely to mine, trailing his finger lazily from my shoulder to the tip of my thumb, back to my shoulder, but this time to my index finger: the cycle continued until he finished with my pinky finger.
To finger sized claws squeezed my bum, disturbing my sleep. I decided to let it slide. I was really enjoying this lie in - on seconds thoughts.
"-Ow." He moaned from beside me.
I scooted away from him. "I don't touch your radio, you don't touch my bum. " Savouring the sweet morning lie in, I drifted back to my half sleeping state. I couldn't help but felt like something was off.
I rolled over expecting him to be there, but it looked like he had gotten up. I didn't actually wanted him to leave me alone, preferable lie in with me, but no, he had to do as he was told. However, he was awfully quiet. Gabe was never quiet, unless he was sleeping, or concentrating deeply on something.
"Gabe!" I called out. "Ga-abe? Gabriel!"
The bathroom door was open, I checked if he was in there but he wasn't. There was no where else to look, so maybe he had gone out to get us breakfast?
I called his phone but a beep indicated that it was busy. I wasn't the clingy type, but I got paranoid. I jumped out of my skin when the curtains shifted. Silently, I grabbed my gun from inside the bedside table. Walking slowly, I debated on whether I should wait on them to come out, or go straight for the kill. By the time I reached in front of the curtains, my decision was already made.
The curtains crawled across the pole, exposing the whole of the balcony. I forgot there was even one there. I looked round seeing his figure on the phone, his hand running through his hair.
Deciding that maybe he needed his privacy, I let him be.
As if sensing my presence, he turned around and smiled. Sliding the door open, he took my hand and ended the call.
"I see you're finally up." He leaned against the railing, proudly taking in my dishevelled appearance, no thanks to him.
"Yeah. Who was that?" I asked stepping into his embrace. He squeezed me tightly, kissing the top of my head. Although the morning air was fresh with with a gentle breeze, his gentle hold ignited something deep within, like a shell, cradling its pearl.
"Tamera. She was wondering if we were going to come see them again." He said, playfully rocking us side to side, the rhythm so soothing, almost putting me back to sleep.
"We?" I looked up sceptically. Sure I enjoyed visiting them, but they were looking forward to seeing me too? Wow. A warm feeling bubbled inside before slowing collapsing, squeezing the air out of my lungs when reality hit me.
I'd be going back home soon.
After our meeting with Detective Levi, we'd go our separate ways. Gabe just entered back into his family's life, he wasn't exactly going to move to the other side of the world for a girl he hardly knows. Would I move for him? I didn't exactly have anything to go back home to - well except Jimmy, but he has a family of his own. Sometimes I felt like I was invading on their privacy, no matter how many times they said I wasn't. It seemed that no matter where I went, I was always invading, not really invited or welcomed to stay. I was never a permanent fix, just a temporary problem until they seemed it fit to get rid off my presence when it started to bore them.
