Tonight is the longest night of the year. This day is known as Yalda in Persian culture. It celebrates the longest night of the year. It consists of pomegranate, watermelon, some nuts, persimmons, apples and pears, oranges, tangerines and kiwi. Eating watermelon on Yalda is known to prevent the person from catching a cold. These are eaten with traditional Persian food and some tea. Later, every member of the family read a poet by Hafez or Shahnameh. This night is special cause it is spent with family members, friends and your loved ones while having fun and spending this memorable night. Happy Yalda to all Persians and be safe and healthy everyone ❤️
