Chapter 40

Adria POV
"Mom?!" I semi-yelled, still holding my ears.

"What do you mean?" Teo asked as he rushed over to me.

"Adria something bad has happened, that you probably won't understand-"

"A crazy mind freak named Fade killed you when you tried to save your friend from becoming a crazy maniac?" I asked.

"Well yeah basically. But there's an even bigger problem now...He's after you."

"What is she saying Adria?" Teo questioned when he saw the look of fear in my face.

"Wha-what do you mean?" I stuttered.

"Adria honey Im so sorry its my fault. Fade wanted Teo but I wouldn't let him have him so he killed me. And now that Teo is free, he has to find someone else, and that someone is you."

"How do you know this? Is he threatening you? Where are you? How is Teo free?" I began to ramble.

"I'm free? What are y'all saying?" Teo asked.

"Shhhhhh!" I hissed at him.

"There's not enough time to answer baby but just know Teo cannot be hurt by Fade anymore and he is there to help guide and protect you." My mom said as her voice got lower and lower.

"Mom wait! Where are you? Is Fade gonna hurt me?" I began to cry.

"Everything will be ok Adria. I'm safe dont worr-" Her voice fades completely and I start crying uncontrollably.

"Its ok Adria, its alright." Teo said comforting me.

"It was my mom, her voice and everything. She's gone now. Forever," I spoke.

"Adria you don't know that-"

"Yes I do!" I yelled. "And its all your fault! If she had never tried to save your screwed up ass in the first place-"

"Don't say things you dont mean just because you're hurt-"

"Oh Mateo trust me I mean them. I could still have her if it wasn't for you!" I shouted, steaming blowing from my ears.

"Adria-"

"No just leave me alone! Now you've got this Fade nigga after me!"

"Adria-"

"All the things I wanted to do in life are now fucked because of you!"

"Adria-"

"My mom decided to die for you, I won't be dying too!"

"Adria-"

"Don't throw me in this fucked up shit!"

"ADRIA!" He finally yells. I sniff looking into his eyes. "Come here," he sighs.

I walked into his arms and sobbed  into his shirt. All my life I had wondered and tried to remember what my mom was like. Her voice especially. She randomly comes back and all I get is horrible news, I broke down. I was full of anger, frustration, and sadness. I just needed to get it out, and Teo was there.

He let me say things and didn't take it to heart, then when I was done he held me until I stopped crying. He wasn't lying about being my best friend.

"I just want my mom back," I finally said.

"Adria I'm gonna find a way to get your mom back, or I'll die trying."
