Dream's POV
*Bell*
First class, Math... Ughhhh.
First day of middle school here and I already hate it.
I moved from Florida to New York.
I'm Native American(50%), Black(45%), and Japanese (5%).
I've never been to New York but it's cold out here, nothing like Florida. It's so stuffy and it's just a lot for me.
I get in this math class and I see everyone look at me.
Of course a couple of boys look at me and try to flirt with me but I don't bother listening. I don't have time for boys.
There's 5 seats left. One by some super cute boy, one by some gay girl, one by some girl who keeps looking at me funny, one by some guy who super tall, and one by some Asian guy.
I sit in the one by the Asian guy and everyone starts 'ow'-ing.
I don't get it, I can't sit by a boy without it being flirty.
I look at him and he looks at me. I look at him with no expression and wave he looks at me the same and waves back.
Teacher : Wow, you are the only new student who is late. Don't let this happen again. I get it, your old school wasn't this early but it is here. You have a lot to catch up in but don't stress.
Me: Yes, ma'am.
Teacher: Ma'am? I like it. Hey George.
The Asian guy beside me : Yea.
Teacher : You know around the school, why don't you take her around the school. Also saying, Dream day near George. He has all the same classes with you.
Me: Yes ma'am.
So I'm guessing the guy beside me is named George.
He looked at me again, and gave me a note.
It read...
Look, you don't have to be near me if you wanna be near others. I'm not gonna force you but if you're okay with me taking you around then I guess I'll do it.
I looked at it and wrote back ....
Thanks. I would rather have you take me around but can you be my first friend?
He looked at it and nodded his head yes.

George: So Umm, we have PE next, then after that science and once that's done I'll tell you what's next.
Me: Thanks for helping me. I'm not from here, this is all really new to me.
George: Where ya from?
Me: Florida.
George: City?
Me: Orlando.
George: Oh, well I'm not from here either. I'm Australian and Japanese.
Me: Oh I have Japanese in me to, well barely, just five percent. And the rest Black and Native American. Mainly Native American.
George: Cool. Umm I'm just gonna tell you now. You're not gonna see me in PE. I skip and go with my friends so yea.
Me: Okay. Can I have your number, just in case I need to contact you?
George: Sure.
He gave me his number and he took me to Science.
I heard a boy say "I see you Joj, dipping in that chocolate"
I just look down and act like I can't hear them.
George: Don't worry about them or that. They just think you pretty, which you are.
Me: Thank you.
George: No problem.
~
~Lunch~
George: So this is when you socialize and make friends on your own and not by a teacher but be careful.
Me: Okay.
He then leaves and gets lunch and I look around and freeze.
I didn't know what to do, so I got lunch and went to the bathroom and ate there.

George Pov.
I go with my friends and I look for Dream. I see her look and freeze and run away with her lunch. I see her go into a bathroom and I didn't really know what to do.
I got up and went to the girls bathroom. I didn't care that much because no one else would.

Dream Pov.
I locked myself in a stall and cried. This is to much pressure. I don't feel right. I can't fit in and I feel like an outcast. I'm tired of being just a pretty girl.
I hear the door open and I get scared.
George: Dream?
It's George.
Me: Yes.
George: Are you crying?
Me: Yes.
George: Why?
Me: I miss home. It doesn't feel right here.
George: You haven't been here long eno- what am I saying. You're not gonna love it here but as soon as you make friends, you're gonna like it but never love it here. I hate it here. Wanna go out and get something to eat instead?
Me: Sure.
I get out and my eyes are red.
He puts his jacket on me and ties the laces around my face so no one can see me crying.
We make it to the parking lot.
George: Do you have a car?
Me: Yes, it's the one behind the one we're standing in front of.
George: Okay.
Me: George, thank you.
George: Umm instead of George, could ya call em Joj or Joji?
Me: Sure.
Joji: Okay, So now let's get something to eat...
