Alec and clary

Chapter 10

As I walked into the store I noticed Alec became kind of awkward and kept trying to avoid me. Every time I would walk next to him he would move away as fast as he could.
"Hey, Alec, do you maybe want to go somewhere else?"
Alec blankly stares at me as I asked him the question. Before I had the chance to comprehend what was going on, he roughly pushed past me and exited the store.
"What was that all about?" Izzy questions.
"I have no idea. Should I go talk to him?" I looked up at Izzy. She gave me an "are you serious look" and laughed at me.
"Yes you should go talk to him, just try not to get into an argument, like always."
Alright Clary, it's just Alec, no big deal. I looked around for about five minutes before I finally found him sitting on a bench near the food court. He looked so miserable and lonely and it just broke my heart.
      I came over to the bench and sat next to him. For a while, we just sat there in silence just watching all the people passing by living their normal lives. Then, without thinking, I grabbed Alec's hand and led him outside to the car the we had came in. Honestly, I don't even know where Izzy got this car from, but it's was pretty nice.
         "Clary, what are we doing? We can't just leave without izzy."
          "Just be quiet and get in the car." I don't even know where I'm going with this but I just needed for us to be alone.
         While we got into the back seat, I started thinking about what I was going to say to him.
"Why do you hate me so much?" I blurted out without thinking. Oh my god did I just say that? I look towards Alec and see him staring at me with an unreadable expression.
"Why do I hate you?" I nodded my head. He sighed and moved his hand to open the door. I quickly reached over to stop him and was now basically straddling him.
              "You're not going anywhere until you answer my question." I crossed my arms and glared at him. He glared back.
               "Well then I guess I'm gonna be here all day," he said while smirking at me. I got a strange feeling in my stomach when he said that.
              I scoffed, " come on Alec just an-" I got cut off abruptly as he fiercely grabbed my waist. Damn I forgot I was on top of him!
             We were both just gazing at each other while slowly starting to lean in. Then, out of nowhere, my phone just rang. I moved away from Alec and got out of the car to answer. It was izzy.
          "Clary where are you? There's an attack in an alley near the mall!!! Get your ass over here now and bring Alec too."
          I turned to the car and realized Alec had heard and he was already on his way. Of course he'd leave me behind.
