[Louis]

The next morning, Louis woke up pretty late. He rolled over in bed, surprised over how empty the other side was. Lifting his head, he noticed Niall wasn't on his mattress either. Rubbing his groggy eyes, Louis got out of bed. Last night almost seemed like a blur, but sleep had helped. He felt energized. But he needed his morning tea.

When he got downstairs, he noticed that the living room lights were dim. Daisy walked over to him, a bowl of oatmeal in her hands. "Morning," she greeted, nodding her head in the direction of the couch. Louis stepped off the last stair and noticed the two boys asleep there. Niall was sprawled across the couch with Zayn curled on top of his chest. Drool was leaking from Zayn's mouth, dripping onto Niall's chest, and Niall's hand was hanging off the couch.

Smiling a little, Louis shook his head. "Last night was tough." He walked over to Niall, and gently shook the boy. The guy slept like the dead, but luckily Louis got him to crack an eye open.

"Hmm," Niall mumbled, a little too loudly. Louis shushed him and motioned towards Zayn. "Why don't you two go up and sleep in my bed?"

Nodding sleepily, Niall gently lifted Zayn up and stumbled up the stairs. Johanna walked out from the kitchen with Dan, carrying waffle plates in their hands. Behind them, Doris, Phoebe, and Ernest made a trail, cookies in Doris' little hands. "Louis! We make cookies!"

Louis grinned at her, opening his mouth. "Can I taste?"

She stuffed an entire cookie in his mouth and Louis coughed, starting to chew. "Mm, gingerbread cookies."

"I...make da cookies too," Ernest told Louis, but Doris shook her head, her curls bouncing. "Ewnie didn't."

"He kept tasting the dough," Dan told him, and Louis picked his little brother up with a chuckle. Charlotte walked downstairs with a box of ornaments. The tree they had bought was standing in the living room, naked and undecorated.

"This year's my turn to set the star!" Phoebe yelled before Daisy could get her chance.

"I want to set staw," Doris mumbled and Ernest frowned in confusion. "Can I have youw cookie, Dowis?"

Louis tickled Ernest's stomach. "Doris can keep her cookie, we'll get some more from the kitchen." While the debate over who was to put the star on top of the tree kept going, Louis made breakfast for himself and gave Ernest a cookie. His brother swung his legs from where he was sitting on the counter, munching on his cookie as he watched Louis make himself a sandwich. "You can set the staw."

Louis sent him a fond smile. "Oh really? Don't you want to do it?" Though Doris and Ernest had been the one to do it last year, on their first Christmas, Louis doubted they remembered.

"No, I wanto meet Santa," Ernest said, taking another bite of the cookie. His lips lifted in a toothy grin. "I want clothes fow Lamlam."

"Ah, well then looks like we'll have to ask Santa personally," Louis said, picking his brother up with one arm, and his plate with the other. "Have you been a good boy though?"

Ernest nodded furiously. "Muuum! I be good, wight?" he asked as they entered the living room. Johanna smiled at him. "You have been."

"I been gooder," Doris said, lifting a red bauble from the box. She tried to hang it up and smiled proudly when she managed to do so.

"Daisy has set the star three times, Phoebe has two times, Charlotte six, Louis seven, Felicite has three times and the twins have once," Johanna read off her phone.
