"Whewre we going?" Zayn asked for the nth time that day. He was sitting, fully dressed, on the bed, legs swinging excitedly. "It's fun?" he wondered, tilting his head. His curiosity was eating him up. The two boys kept repeating that 'It's a surprise', but he couldn't wait. Did they get Ziam? Was Liam here? Was Niall here again? The possibilities were endless, and each one as exciting as the other.

"Zayn, patience," Harry jested, ruffling his hair as he walked towards the bathroom.

"I agree with Harry, we're not telling you anything," Louis said from where he was fixing his hair in the mirror. "That's what a surprise means, buddy."

Zayn crossed his arms with a pout. "But I want to know."

"You'll find out in a few," Louis said, smirking at him through the mirror. Harry walked back out, buttoning his shirt. "If you're bored Zayn, go put on your shoes and we'll be right there."

Zayn huffed and slid off the bed, hurrying down the stairs. As promised, the two showed up when Zayn finished putting on his shoes. He reached for his jacket. "Is Ziam in Don the Castew?" he bit his lip in anticipation; he just had to ask. Louis' face fell and he scratched the back of his neck. "Oh. Uh, no. It's a different type of surprise."

"Liam? Niall?" Zayn asked hopefully, pulling on his jacket, too busy guessing to be babied. Harry frowned at him. "You're making our surprise look bleak."

"Whas bleak?" Zayn wondered. "Is supwise bleak? Is bleak toy?"

"Calm ya knickers, you'll find out when we get there," Louis said amusedly, pulling out Zayn's beanie with a tsk. Harry threw on his coat and grinned at Ernest who was padding over to them in the foyer. "Hey, Ernie. Do you want to come with us?"

Ernest nodded eagerly, but Dan appeared behind him. "Oh no, son. You were coughing last night."

Louis picked his brother up and kissed his cheek. "Oh well, maybe next time. We'll bring you some candy," he whispered, but Zayn heard that. He frowned. It wasn't even Saturday.

"I not get candy when I sick," he announced loudly and then turned towards the door like it was no big deal. Like he didn't care. Everyone loved Ernest so much.

They walked outside and Zayn scrunched his face as the cold hit his face. The snow had draped itself like a blanket over the neighborhood and there was even more snow now! Zayn looked around in awe, and he hurried over to a snow pile and stuck his hand in it, unable to resist the temptation.

"You just got out of a cold, do you want to get sick again?" Louis asked exasperatedly and Zayn frowned at him, shoulders sinking. He did not want to be sick again. Zayn withdrew his hand and wiped it on his jacket. Harry smiled in amusement, his hands in his coat pocket. "Looks like parenting has been good."

Louis stuck a tongue out at him. "Ya'll just want to tease me, but it was serious business. Scared the sh-life out of me when he got sick."

Zayn walked over and hugged Louis' leg. "Sowry Louis, I not mean to scare you."

Louis' face softened and he leaned down to bop his nose. "Ah, and there it is. The adorableness."

Zayn grinned innocently at Harry and skipped beside the two. "Now you tell me whewre we going?"

"Nope, not happening," Louis laughed. As Harry and Louis started talking about Christmas dinner, Zayn looked around. Last night's thoughts resurfaced about running to the Air Port and flying to London. He'd be back in a few hours with Ziam, just like that. Zayn pursed his lips, the gears in his mind turning. No, he'd scare Louis again. And this time, Harry too. But-but Ziam...
