After all the Christmas tree decorations, Dan pitched in that they could head to the mall for some Christmas shopping and so that the twins could meet Santa.
Ernest was delighted by the news, of course, already bouncing around, talking in the gibberish of what Louis understood he wanted clothes for Lamblamb.

Zayn seemed in shock, and the little boy abandoned his breakfast waffles to look at Louis. "We can meet Santa?"

"Yup," Phoebe said with a wink. "Tell him what you want for Christmas."

Zayn frowned. "But I don't know what I want."

Louis pulled the boy to his chest playfully. "That's because you haven't seen all the toys that are out there." He smiled at Dan. "I think we should spend the entire day at the mall, show Zayn some good toys."

"And he can meet Santa," Felicite said with a grin. Charlotte nodded as she tapped away on her phone. "I still have to buy a present for Tommy."

"Niall, dear, when's your flight? You can join us today, right?" Johanna asked Niall, who was digging in a plate of waffles, a cup of coffee beside him. He looked up with a nod, smiling at Zayn. "I'm not leaving before early morning tomorrow."

Zayn, who had been swinging his legs while he ate, froze. He turned to Niall, mouth full of food. "You leave?" He swallowed and threw his arms around Niall. "Don't leave!"

Louis smiled sadly and rubbed Zayn's back. "Niall's gotta get back to his family, but we'll see him soon."

Niall nodded, hugging Zayn to his side. "Besides, you're getting one of your presents early." He looked up at Louis with a wink, and Louis tried to hold in his excitement. "Oh yes, we've got a surprise for you."

"Wish I could be here to see the look on your face, kiddo, but I've already booked my ticket," Niall told him in dismay. Zayn looked at everybody in confusion. "Supwise? When?"

"Tomorrow evening," Felicite said with a smirk. "I'm sure you'll be delighted to see him-"

Daisy cut her off with a hard nudge. "It," she corrected. "See it, the surprise. Tomorrow evening, Zayn."

Zayn looked at Louis in confusion, wondering what they were talking about. Excitement and curiosity raged in him, and he smiled. Surprise for him? What could it be?

"Is it fwom Santa?" Zayn questioned. But I haven't even met Santa yet.

"No, it's from us," Niall said with a grin. Zayn burned with curiosity and he shook the lad slightly. "Louis, what is it?"

"A surprise," Louis told him with a chuckle, ruffling his hair. "Now eat up quickly, we have Santa to meet."

The mall was bustling with people, and as long as Zayn's eye could see, there were legs and waists and shopping bags all around. He closed his hand around Niall's, scooting closer to the blonde boy. "Many people," he whispered to himself.

"Doncaster's a small place, but this is nice," Louis said with a smile as he looked around. "Where to first?"

"Well, we'll have to split up because I'm heading to Sephora," Charlotte said. Felicite pulled her phone out of her purse. "Me too. I'll come with you."

"I'm not going to stick with you guys, you'll see what I'm buying," Daisy said, lifting Doris up. "We're heading to the second floor."

"Okay be careful, love. I want us all to meet in the coffee shop in two hours," Johanna said, nodding towards the coffee shop in front of them. Ernest padded over to her and she held his hand. "Dan, aren't you going to buy something for Edward, your friend?"
