*What Love Can Do

Excited to see someone come
Sad to see someone go
To leave an imprint on your heart
When no one else can budge

To be attached surely means pleasure will come your way
Even though you wait, it is for a good cause
To be happy, to shine
To have that feeling that no one else can give you

Butterflies that find their way into your stomach,
Jitters that cannot be contained,
Warmth that rushes through the cracks of a once uncompleted heart,
The feeling of being appreciated, cherished
All are the wonderful side effects of the profound word

The word that can send you into a frenzy,
Into a blind search for one's desires
To leave all that you have known to fulfil it,
To pursue it,
To believe that you are complete

What Love Can Do is beyond our understanding,
Our perception of what is right
When infected, you are not easily repaired
You do not go back to normal, to how you were before

If completed, you are alive
You feel as if there is nothing that you cannot do
To be in someone's arms is to be safe,
To be protected, to be loved
That is what love can do
