"Luke?" I wander into his room my eyes still crusty with sleep.

I had another nightmare about Elias about an hour ago, and I hadn't been able to sleep since. I feel pathetic stumbling into his room at 3:30 in the morning, but I didn't know what else to do, and remembering the last time I was wandering the halls at this time of night, Luke was still awake as well.

"What?" He groans from under the covers, but I can tell he wasn't sleeping either.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" I question curiously, and move to sit at the edge of his bed.

"Well, maybe because a certain someone decided to wake me up in the middle of the night." He mutters peeking out from beneath his comforters.

"But tell me the truth, were you even asleep before I came in?" I raise my eye brows at the blonde haired boy.

"No." He admits before childishly pulling the covers back over his face.

I reach over and rip his covers off giggling at his face as I do so, and he is left only in his sweat pants. I try to keep my eyes away from his exposed chest, that is perfectly toned.

"What was that for?" He pouts trying to pull them back up, but I keep a firm grip so he can't cover himself again. "Please?" He begs, sticking out his lower lip at me. I bite my own lip to hold back a grin.

"Nope!" I shake my head at him.

He furrows his eyebrows as though he's trying to come up with a way to turn the table. Suddenly, his expression turns to a smirk and I know he has come up with a plan.

Before I have time to react, he yanks on the cover still balled in my fist and catches me off guard. I let out a yelp of surprise as I tumble down from the imact of the covers being yanked out from under me. I fall right on top of Luke's bare chest, my face only an inch or two from his.

"Oh, um, sorry." I squeak awkwardly and use my palms to try to push my self off, only to be stopped by Luke. His hands grab my waist keeping me on top of him and I can feel the heat rise to my cheeks.

"Don't be." He whispers, his hot breath tickling my face. My breath hitches as I stare into his pale blue eyes that are flicking back and forth between my own.

We stare into each other's eyes for what feels like days, but is only two minutes or so before he ends it. His left hand slides up from my waist to gently cup my cheek.

My heart races with each second that drags out as he moves up to meet my lips. Soon his mouth is pressed against mine, his soft lips slightly parted. Mine instinctively mold against his. It feels just right, like when you finally find the missing piece to you puzzle you thought you lost. Time seems to stop and everything is silent as he gently pulls away.

"Cora... I shouldn't have-" He starts, but I cut him off by pressing my finger to his lips not wanting to hear the rest.

"Don't worry about it, okay? Can we go to the beach?" I suggest trying to make this more comfortable for both of us.

"Right now, at nearly four in the morning?" He raises an eyebrow at me and looks at me like I'm crazy, which maybe, just maybe, I am.

"Is that a no?"

"Go get your shoes on." He sighs giving in.

I quickly push off of him and go grab my shoes from my room. I slip them on and by the time I'm back in the shared living space, Luke is too with his shoes on and ready to go.

Luke's POV

I walk down the path to reach the crashing ocean waves with Cora by my side.
