Diary of a Nymphomaniac

Pranpriya's  POV

"Doc, what happened to her?" I heard my Mommy's voice out of nowhere.

Tulog ba ako? Bakit hindi ako makagalaw? Bakit parang wala akong maramdaman? Bakit ganito? Patay na ba ako? Nasaan ba ako? Bakit ang dilim? Bakit wala akong makita?

"I'm sorry to tell you this, but Madame Stalani your daughter have Angioimmunoblastic Lymphoma" Ani ng doctor.

May Lymphoma ako?

"What was that, is that dangerous?" My sister, Tyreen uttered.

"In her case it is. Lymphoma is the most common blood cancer. The two main forms of lymphoma are Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Lymphoma occurs when cells of the immune system called lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, grow and multiply uncontrollably. Cancerous lymphocytes can travel to many parts of the body, including the lymph nodes, spleen, bone marrow, blood, or other organs, and form a mass called a tumor. The body has two main types of lymphocytes that can develop into lymphomas: B-lymphocytes (B-cells) and T-lymphocytes (T-cells). T-cell lymphomas account for approximately 15 percent of all NHLs in the United States. A similar lymphocyte called a natural killer (NK) cell shares many features with T-cells. When NK cells become cancerous, the cancer is called NK or NK/T-cell lymphoma and is generally grouped with other T-cell lymphomas. There are many different forms of T-cell lymphomas, some of which are extremely rare. T-cell lymphomas can be aggressive (fast-growing) or indolent (slow-growing)." The doctor paused for a while continued. "In you daughters' case, she has aggressive lymphoma, and the tumors spread faster and it's late for her case already, Angio-immunoblastic Lymphoma is a fast-growing T-cell lymphoma accounting for 15 percent to 18 percent of all T-cell lymphomas in the United States. Initial symptoms often include swollen lymph nodes and systemic symptoms such as fever and rash. It is generally treated like other fast-growing T-cell lymphomas, but can be managed with milder therapies in certain circumstances." detalyadong pag-eexplain ng doctor sa kanya.

"So we can help her, do the therapies needed when will we start the therapies for my daughter? Is the baby going to be okay?" Mom asked.

"I can't tell you this, you must consult the gynecologists' office for the child, but I think the child is in a big risk we found out that the patient is positive..."

"Positive saan, Doc?" Tanong ng aking kapatid na si Tyreen.

Wala si Domo at Daddy? Where are they? Hindi ba ay nandito na dapat sila?

"The patient is HIV positive—"

"NO! Hindi totoo 'yan!" Sigaw ni Mommy na ikinagulat ko.

This is my fucking nightmare. Please wake me up, Lord. I'll face all the consequences for my daughter kahit ako na ang magdusa at magpakasakit.
