Two facts about WW1 and 2 during Christmas:
1) During WW1, a now famous, truce happened between the English and the Germans. The stopped shooting at each other. They exchanged gifts across a neutral No Man's Land played football/soccer against each other and decorated their shelters.
2) Bicycle, the Amercian card company, created playing cards and sent it to German POW camps as presents. However, if the cards were soaked in water, it revealed an escape route. The Nazi's never knew.
