"We're about to enter an alternative timeline. I'll be right by your side the whole time. Are you ready?" Gelus asked.
Mello nodded and the world before him changed.
He saw a small red headed boy enter the orphanage. The boy took over Mello's room and hardly ever left it. He just lay in bed playing video games, skipping as many classes as he could get away with, even missing some meals.
"What a loser," Mello commented.
He watched on and saw the boy being bullied when he left the room.
"Haha, Mello's replacement, you're an even bigger loser than he was," The kids taunted him.
The red head didn't know who Mello was but hacked into Wammy's computer system and found out. He cried over Mello's death, though he hadn't known him. He felt scared being in the room in case his ghost haunted him, but outside the room were the bullies. He wished Mello was still here so he wouldn't be alone. He was sure they would have been friends.
Mello watched silently, feeling sorry for calling the kid a loser. He actually seemed kind of cool. Mello wished he could meet him, but it would soon be too late.
