True Colors (Mostly a 🍓Stevonnie🍪 Story)

This idea came to me while listening to True Colors and seeing an AMV of it

Connie's POV

"Steven?"

"..."

"Steven?......"

"....."

"Steven are you okay?"

"NO!!!!"

I was startled by his sudden outburst.

"I'm not okay Connie," Steven said again teary eyed, "this war is going sideways and everyone is falling apart!"

"Oh, Steven....."

"Garnet unfused," he continued, "Ruby blames Sapphire for not foreseeing all this happening, now their not talking to each other. Garnet was always the most stable one, but now even she can't keep it together.

"Pearl and Amethyst are now more farther apart then before, Pearl has been degrading Amethyst to the point where Amethyst just stays in the Kindergarden. I barely even see her anymore and Pearl refuses to even see her.

"Lapis fled Earth, not wanting to be part of another war and Peridot has been depressed since. I can't even get her to talk to me, much less leave my bathroom.

"And to top it all off, it makes me sad to think that I wasn't able to keep them all together!! That I wasn't enough to keep my family one piece!!!

"That I will never be like my mom, the one person they truly loved and listened to.

"And your asking me if I'M ALRIGHT?!?!?!?!?!"

I just stood there staring at him with sad eyes, not knowing what to say.

Then he just kneeled down in front of me and suddenly started crying.

I would've joined him except just as suddenly as he cried, his gem glowed brightly then he started to turn gray.

"Steven? STEVEN!?!?!? HELP!!!! PEARL!!! AMETHYST!!!!"

Sapphire and Pearl immediately stormed into Steven's room from their rooms.

My screams must be really loud because the warp activated and Ruby and Amethyst came in.

Even Peridot burst out of the bathroom to see what's the commotion, Pumpkin close on her trail.

And, for some odd reason, Lapis burst through the door, eyes full of worry.

"STEVEN!!!!" they all exclaimed when they caught sight of him, though each gem seems to be avoiding their own partner.

"What's happening to him?" I asked them.

"This....this can't be........possible..." Pearl said, covering her mouth, eyes watery, as she kneeled to inspect him.

By now his whole body has turned gray and black, his gem glow starting to dim as the seconds go by.

"What!? What isn't possible!?!?" I asked.

Sapphire spoke up, "Its what happens to gems when we have reached our lowest point...."

"What do you mea-!?"

"Connie," Sapphire continued, "like you humans, we gems can also get depress, but what's different us is that when a gem has lost all hope and gave into despair, all her color recedes to her gem, which then starts to lose its luster and turn the gem to stone."
