Zayn broke the silence. "It's crazy how you've gotten all these powers..."

"I was bitten by so many vampires, how could I not?" I joked.

He shook his head, "if that was the case, others would've thought of this by now. There's something special about you. I don't know what it is..."

"I'm nothing special," I tried digging through my memory for anything special, but there was nothing that stuck out. I was just an average teenage girl in high school, who was a bit too obsessed with a boy band.

"Are you sure your parents, grandparents, or great grandparents aren't special or have any vampire in them...?"

"I'm quite confused on this topic. So can vampires actually have children?"

"I'm back," Louis hollered, carrying some snacks. He handed Zayn a popsicle, "Just to calm your fiery temper."

I quickly blew out the fire in my palm.

"Showing off, are we?" Louis teased, handing me a bag of marshmallows. "Why'd you put the fire out? Let's roast some, the good old American style... since we're in America... right?"

"Yes, Kansas to be exact."

We went to a nearby field, and I put out a small flame we roasted marshmallows over. Thankfully, no one noticed we were there. There was practically no one in the area anyway.

"Hope you don't start getting homesick anytime soon. We don't know when this thing's going to end yet!"

"I want to go home once this thing is over," I sighed. "Just for a visit, and to graduate."

"I thought your mum mentioned you graduated early," Louis said as he chewed a marshmallow.

"I did?"

"So not everything is back yet..."

"Is my family worried about me?"

"Louis used his tricks on them," Zayn said. "Doubt they'll miss you till next Christmas."

I frowned. "Is the block on their minds that long?"

"It's not a block, just... a calming mechanism. So they don't report us to the police," Louis half joked.

"Sparrow, even if you go back... things will never be the same."

Louis agreed, "it may have been only months... but you've gone through so much. You'll never be the same, Cupcake."

"No shit, I'm suddenly a vampire. Hell, I never knew they existed until I met you guys."

They stayed quiet for a moment.

"I'm sorry," Zayn said. "I'm sorry for biting you... it was wrong."

"You regret it?"

He looked at Louis, and looked back to me. He didn't answer my question, probably because Louis was there.

"I feel like I'm third wheeling," Louis pursed his lips together.

"Says you," Zayn huffed. "I've been left out of things since I joined the group."

Louis sprung up from the floor immediately. "We've included you in everything! Pillow fights, date nights-"

"You invite me along, but left me out. It's only natural. Five members, and everyone's paired off. You talk in your pairs, but never include me in any conversations. Even when I tried to talk... I'm the outsider."
