Josh's POV

I was beyond exited to have the opportunity to study in Europe for a year. Although I would miss my family, I couldn't wait to go.

I planned to go over to my brother's house, as they were hosting my going away party. I was hoping I would have the chance to speak Maya alone, I need to hear what she had to say.

Maya's POV

Riley was helping her family set up the party in the kitchen, while I sat on the living room baby window and drew something. Everyone says that artists tend to draw what they're feeling, and I ended up drawing these 2 pictures...

I was lost in my thoughts, until I slammed my sketch book shut when I heard the guest of honour's voice.

"Ma brother." He said to Mr Matthews.

"Ma brother." They've gave each other a bro hug. "Excited for tonight? You're going to be in Europe for a year. That's so exciting!" Mr Matthews said to Josh. I'd like to thank him for reminding me Josh is leaving tonight.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" Josh appeared in front of me.

"Sure." I patted the seat next to me.

"Not here." He held out his hand and I grabbed it. He led me up to the roof, and we sat looking over watching the beautiful city of New York at night.

"It's beautiful, isn't it." He said looking down.

"What do you wanna talk to me about?" I could already feel my words stuttering.

"Maya," He took a hold of my hand, I kept staring at the city below us. "3 words, 8 letters. That's all you have to say to make me stay." I looked up at him.

"That's it. I don't want to be the one that makes you stay. Josh, you have to go. It's an amazing opportunity, don't turn it down for me. You live your life, I live mine. That was the deal." There was no more denying that I was crying.

"You know, I think I'm gonna miss you most of all." He pulled me into him and I just sobbed into his shirt.

"I'll miss you too." I pulled back from him and he wiped my eyes. I put my hands on top of his. "Just because I didn't say it, doesn't mean I don't feel it." I looked down at Josh's phone that had just lit up.

"It's Cory. He said my cab is here for the airport. My flight isn't for another 6 hours, but I thought I would make use of my time in the first class lounge." I giggled at the last part. We walked back to the apartment and Josh kept our hands locked the whole time.

Josh's POV

"I guess this is it then." Maya said after I had hugged everyone else.

"I guess so." I pulled her into a hug before Cory told me it was time to leave. I was about to leave but I turned around so my eyes could meet Maya's. "Long Game?"

"Long Game." She smiled, then I left.

Maya's POV

After Josh was out the door, everyone's eyes were on me, whilst my eyes were filling with tears. I ran back up to the roof top as I hated people seeing my cry. I looked around and saw the place Josh and I were a few minutes ago. I went over to the bench and let my tears fall down my face.

"I knew you'd be here." I looked up and saw Riley. "For the last time, why aren't you two together?"

"It's complicated Riles. I do love him obviously, but we agreed to wait." I looked down again and she came and sat next to me.

"Yeah its very complicated. Especially when you're in love with each other and making you wait is hurting both of you." She turned my head to fave her. "Go." She whispered.

"What?" I whispered back.

"Why are you just sitting next to here crying when you could get a cab and go get him. You could sit here, or you could get everything you've wanted since you were 13 years old. His plane doesn't leave for another 5 hours, you've got time." She smiled at me and we stood up.

"Your right. I wanna go get him. I can't loose him." He ran back down stairs to the apartment. Riley stopped at the sofa and get kept running to the door. "Bye losers. I'm going to get the guy I love." I slammed the door and hailed a cab.

Josh's POV

I'm an idiot for leaving the house this early - my flight wasn't for another for 4 hours. I'm an even bigger idiot for leaving Maya. Truth be told, I didn't even want to go to Europe that much. I just wanted to get someone to tell me they wanted me to stay. Europe was an amazing opportunity at the time, but to be honest I'd rather stay in America. Preferably New York. With Maya.

I looked up from my phone screen to see a security guard going towards the door into the first class door.

"Please sir, you don't understand. Just let me through. I'm not gonna try sneak onto the plane. I just need to speak to someone." I recognised that voice anywhere. I gathered my stuff and made my way towards the door of the lounge.

"Sir, I'm afraid if you leave the lounge, you won't be able to get back in." A man told me.

"It's fine. I don't plan on coming back." I smiled and made my way to the door.

Maya's POV

I was trying to get in to the first class lounge to speak to Josh, but nobody would let me in.

"Maya." I turned around to see Josh standing with his bags.

"Josh." I went up to him. "I thought you were in there." I pointed to the doors into the lounge.

"I heard your voice and it was good enough to make me stay, knowing that you came to the airport." I looked at him confused.

"What do you mean?" I asked him.

"I wanted to stay, I never wanted to go to Europe. Nobody except you asked me my opinion, and I lied when you did." He hugged me. "What happened to living your life and living my life." He chuckled.

"I think we finally realised we wanted to live our lives together." I said as I buried my face into his chest.

"We both knew along time ago. It just took me ages to admit it. I was scared to fall in love, 'cause I am in love with you Maya." I pulled away and smirked at him.

"It's serious has taken you this long to admit it to me." I giggled.

"Anything you wanna tell me?" He smirked.

"I don't think so." He nudged my shoulder. "I love you too." I leaned back into him, and we stood there hugging and talking for almost an hour, before we pulled away and went the hotel next to the airport, as Josh no longer had a dorm room.
