Haruka's P.O.V-

I sighed, drumming my fingers on my desk. It's bothersome trying to stay awake when your teacher is dull. I saw some classmates already falling asleep, some drooling. Finally, the bell rang. All those sleeping suddenly shot up and grabbed their belongings. They bolted out of the classroom in 5 seconds flat. As I slowly walked out of the building, I paused my walk when I heard thunder. I hummed as I saw the clouds darkening. Meh, nobody would care if I'm home or not.
I have two parents, and 2 siblings. One older, other younger. I put on my hoodie, earphones already secured. Putting my phone on my jean pocket, I stuffed my hands on my sweater's pocket. My backpack was getting soaked, but I didn't mind. My school stuff never gets soaked anyways. Today is Friday. Mai will likely get drunk with her friends. Again. Like every Friday. Psh, her problem, not mine. Keiritsu will probably be whining about wanting a toy. Mom and Dad will be working until midnight. Jessica, Keiritsu's babysitter, will probably be complaining about why does she have to babysit a brat. I'm the black sheep of the family. Haruka Akamatsu, age 14, anime and K-pop lover.
My dark brown eyes narrowed as I looked at some drunks. I'm pretty short for my age. I have black hair and caramel colored skin. I live in the rich part of the city. Ugh, I HATE being rich. If I were an adult and still rich, I wouldn't be boasting. Give some money to charities. Live in A decent home. But nooo, I have rich parents and people label me as a snob. I told Aaron, the driver, to never pick me up or drive me to school. Rather walk, plus it's healthy. The school is 5 blocks away from home anyways. I couldn't see a thing as the rain was intense. I couldn't hear anything but my playlist. Suddenly, I felt an excruciating pain. I flew backwards, my backpack slipping off my grip. My earphones fell, and by back hurt. I saw a blurry figure retreating fast. I reached for the sky and smiled.

'Finally, I'll be at peace...Thomas, I guess I'll see you again...'

I put my arm down and tasted a metallic liquid. My eyelids felt heavy, the last thing I saw was red, white, and blue blotches. I finally closed my eyes.  Then, I felt like I was floating and opened my eyes. Darkness.

"Your journey has not ended yet, child..."

I saw a blurry figure.

"Don't give up on life, Haru!"

'Thomas...'

"THOMAS!!!" My voice was hoarse.

He grabbed my hand gently.

"Sorry Haru, it's not time for you to join me..." He kissed me on my forehead gently after saying those horrific words.

He let go. I felt like I was falling apart. It was so painful. My body started to fall as I desperately tried to reach him. I wanted to hug him, tell him I'm sorry. That I was such an idiot.

"THOOMMAASSS!!!"
