I woke around ten the next morning. I yawned as I cracked open my eyes. I was curled up in the middle of my bed with the tip of my tail hanging over my snout. My ears were flopped lazily against my head and my wings were hanging limp at my sides. The sun was shining brightly through the window and the smell of eggs and bacon frying on the stove drifted up the stair case and into my room. I smiled as I stretched out.I quickly pulled on a bright red shirt and the short's Shelby ahd given me the night before and slid downstairs. Tess was helping Dad with breakfast,James was playing Call Of Duty 3 with Taylor watching him and Will,as always, was watching something on the Discovery Channel. I grabbed my fire starter out of the fridge and gulped it down,I felt my flame flare up and I capped the bottle and placed it back into the fridge. I walked from the kitchen to the living room and sat down on the couch, grabbing my book from the coffee table and beginning to read. I had been reading for a bout ten minutes when Dad called from the kitchen.

"Breakfast is ready."

James and Will put their stuff on pause and I set down my book and we went into the kitchen. I grabbed two eggs, piling my usual toppings on them and six pieces of bacon before sitting down at my place at the table. Dad sat at my left,Tess on my right,Mom was across from me,Taylor was between her and Tess, while James and Will were between Mom and Dad.

"So did you have good time last night bro?" James asked.

I laughed a bit,"Oh yeah",I replied swallowing some of the bacon,"especially torwads the end when Shelby's Dad showed up in his Koenisegg CCGT,I could tell just by the way it sounded it was sporting the usual Centrifugal Supercharger as well as Twin Turbo chargers." I always had to cough up anything I knew about a cool car,I couldn't help myself. Mom likes to make jokes that if you don't let me talk,I might explode.

James sighed and shook his head,"No one at this table understood a word of that."

"Shut up James" I replied smiling and laughing a bit.

"So do you like the watch son?" Dad asked grinning at me.

I held up my arm so he could see that I was still wearing it.

"I love it Dad",I replied,"It matches my scales perfectly."

Dad smiled,"Happy that you like it."

I took a big bite of my sandwich. "You should see what Tess gave me".

I set down my sandwich and reached into my shirt, pulling out my dog tags. The gold and sliver cross stood out against the black chain and silver tags. The cross glowed as it caught the light.

"Tess",Mom said looking at her in shock,"where did you get that?"

Tess shrugged,"I found it in a gutter a few days after I moved out,at first,I thought it was just a piece of a wrapper, but as I got closer,I saw that it wasn't." "So I picked it up,something about it gave me hope,I don't think there was ever a day after that where it wasn't hanging around my neck."

"It was a sweet gift",Mom replied.

After breakfast,Will and James went back to their shows and I went back to my book. I had been reading for about five or so minutes when the phone rang. I grabbed it up and answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Seth",it was Jack,"what ya doing?"

"Siting on my couch reading",I replied.

"I just got done talking with Alex",Jack said over the phone,"he said he'll be here to get the Camaro on Monday at six in the morning."

'Sounds good to me",I replied,"I'll tell my Dad tonight, you guys wanna come over and swim for a while?"
