“Are we seriously going to take him?” Julia sneers.

I decided to take my true soulmate with me and she can’t agree with that? What could be more important (besides Loretta) than a soulmate? The only person that I cant truly love and hold, can’t come? Please.

“Yes, we are going to take him,” I said firmly and looked at Jason.

He smiled and nodded. We talked it over and he said he was looking forward to seeing the world. He was eighteen anyway. An adult. (Yes, he is older than me. But at least he’s not a millennia older than me.) I knew that once I took Loretta, we would have to keep traveling all the time, or until we killed that shapeshifter. I have a feeling that’s going to be very hard.

Haley came back from packing our things in the car.

“Everything’s set. Let’s go get our sister back,” She said and headed back to the car.

Jason threw me a confused look and I just smiled. We walked to the convertible and slid into the back seats. Julia took the passenger seat and Haley started the engine.

“Haley?” I asked.

“Yeah.”

“So...no one else’s blood?” I asked.

She nodded and had a face that said, I thought I explained this already.

“Oh,” I said and nodded thoughtfully.

“Why? Are you hungry right now? You know you could bite me if you wanted to,” Jason said while pulling down his collar to show his tattoo.

“No, I’m okay right now. Plus, I wouldn’t want to make Haley hungry too,” I said.

“Nah, it’s okay with me, but Julia might barf and these seat covers are new,” Haley said.

“No, I will barf,” Julia said while making gagging noises.

We all laughed. Even Julia, who is always usually grumpy.

Julia immediately stopped laughing and put up a shield of coldness in her eyes. She stared at me through the mirror long and hard. I squirmed uncomfortably and turned away.

“Hey are we almost there? I’m kind of getting hungry,” Jason said.

“Oh, don’t worry. So am I,” I mumbled. He didn’t hear me, but Haley did.

She giggled and said, “Yeah, we’re almost there. Maybe in half an hour.”

I sighed. This was getting very irritating. I could already feel my teeth indent my lower lip and lean closer to Jason’s neck.

No, not yet, but soon. My lungs started to close in on each other. I started to breath deeply. It felt like water was drowning my lungs. I could try to wait half an hour, but I don’t know if I could last that long.

Many unbearable minutes passed by until Haley announced that we were here. I jumped out of the car and took Jason with me. I could feel my skin get dry and my hair lose it’s color. It was a good thing Haley parked somewhere private. I tilted Jason’s neck and aimed at the tattoo. I sank my teeth in and heard Jason gasp. He tensed and then relaxed in my arms. I loved the way his blood tasted. It was mine. It would never be tapped by another vamp, because he was mine. I Marked him as my own. His blood poured into my mouth, and it felt good.

He pressed on my head slightly and put his other hand on the small of my back. If I could smile I would, but my mouth was busy. His aura started to shift, so I retracted my fangs. He pressed harder on my head.
