“We all set?” I ask.

“Yeah. We have everything on the list. You ready Julia?” Haley said.

“Yeah, yeah. Let’s just go.”

I looked at my backpack. It had everything I needed. Money, a cell phone, extra clothes, and a few herbs, crystals, and stakes. Made for Soul Killers, vampires, and humans. I was still trying to figure out what killed a shapeshifter though.

“See if you could try to contact Loretta again,” Haley suggested.

I nodded and closed my eyes. My body thumped against the ground.

Then, I fell into darkness.

I feel...weird. I shake my head and look around. It was the beautiful meadow again. I stand up.

“Hello? Anyone out there?” I yell.

Someone was behind me. I turn around and see who it is.

“Loretta!” I yell in excitement.

She smiled and hugged me.

“Oh Liz! I can’t believe you’re trying to find me!” She said.

“Of course I would try! I would never leave you with that shapeshifter.”

She tensed and pulled away.

“You can’t come, though.”

I widened my eyes and say, “Why do you keep telling me that? I defeated Violetta, then I can save you.”

“No, you can’t. She’ll kill you. And you almost died when you defeated her,” She said soberly.

I flinched from the memory.

“I don’t care! I have a witch-vampire and a shapeshifter. I’m a witch too. We can’t be defeated,” I say.

“It won’t matter. In the end, she will win. She always does.”

“Tell me where you are,” I demand.

“No,” She says.

“Tell me!”

She starts crying.

“I can’t. I can’t,” She sobs.

“Yes, you can. Please Lori, let me at least try to help you.”

She looked into my eyes.

Just the way I remembered them, brown with green blending in where the iris ends. Wide young eyes.

“Okay,” She sighs.

She sent images of where she was. A little store secretly kept in Nevada. For only those that were part of the supernatural world. The worst parts of town. She shoved me out of the Shadow World after the images were gone.

My eyes fly open.

“I know where she is!” I say.

“Where?” Haley asks.

“Finally. We were waiting for almost a half hour,” Julia rants.

“Sorry, but I know where she is.”

“Where?” Haley repeated.

I stared at her for a long moment. This was going to be the biggest shock of her life. To know that our sister is so close to us.

“Las Vegas, Nevada,” I say.

“That’s so close!” Haley exclaims.

“She’s been hiding her right under our noses,” I say with a grunt.
