We reach air temple island faster than I expected. When we disembarked the boat, we are greeted by a group of air benders.
"Korra, you're back early." The oldest of the group said.
"Yup...stuff happened." She replied, eyeing Kagura.
"Hey pretty lady!" A little boy by my legs greet.
"Uh...hey little uh..." just then, the kid farts. "Fart dude?"
Korra snorts.
I ignore her.
"HI WHAT'S YOUR NAME? HOW OLD ARE YOU? YOU'RE SMALL. HOW TALL ARE YOU? WHERE'D YOU COME FROM? ARE YOU A BENDER? WHAT CAN YOU BEND? ARE YOU HERE TO STAY? WAIT. AREN'T YOU THE GIRL WHO CAME IN AFTER PONYTAIL GUY LEFT?" Another kid bombards. This time, a girl.
"Uhh...I'm sorry but could you stop bouncing around and perhaps repeat all that like at half the speed?" Kagura uses her pointer finger and draws circles at the bundle of energy to emphasise the 'all that'.
The little girl is pushed aside and another taller girl, replaces her.
"I'm sorry. I'm Jinora. The energetic one is my Sister Ikki and the one that is farting right now, is my Brother, meelo."
Finally, a normal introduction.
"Uh hi."
"So Korra who is this girl? I don't know, maybe you would like to uh maybe introduce her to us?" The monk I assume to be Tenzin.
"Uh yes yes. Guys, this is Kagura. Kagura, guys."
I raised an eyebrow at Korra's introduction. It was really introducing. Note the sarcasm.
"Hi, I'm pema and this is my husband Tenzin." The pregnant one introduces. She too must've thought that Korra's introduction was amazing and decided to do it herself.
"Oh yeah and Tenzin, Kagura needs a place to stay. Can she stay here?"
"Of course she can. We have plenty of rooms." Pema says kindly. "I'll show her the way."
"Thanks." Korra says before leaving.
----------------------
"So what happened to your old home?" Pema asked.
"Uhh...a sudden storm decided to drop by and wreck the place?" I spoke with a nervous laugh. Well I wasn't exactly lying.
"Cool." Ikki said.
For some reason, the 3 children, 4 if you counted the unborn one, were following me and Pema to my room.
"Here it is. Korra's room is beside yours." Pema said and opens the door, revealing a spacious wooden floored room with a nice bed in the corner, beside a pentagon shaped window, and a wardrobe and dresser on the opposite side of the room.
"Thanks." I uttered a single word of gratitude.
I walk in and Pema closes the door behind me. I lay down on the bed with my legs dangling off the sides and heave a deep sigh of relief. I was not accustomed to the fact that I was freed. And that it was only 7 in the morning. It was a very hectic morning.
After awhile of laying in bed, I took a walk around the place and found Korra, Bolin and Naga by a short flight stairs.
"Hey guys." I greet.
"Hey." Korra greets back while petting Naga.
"Hi Kagura."
"What's that?" I ask pointing to a rose and a cupcake sitting on the floor where Korra sat.
"A rose and a cupcake?" Korra states the obvious. "It was a gift from Bolin for saving him from Amon."
"Oh. Why don't I have one?"
"Uh...sorry." Bolin rubs the nape of his neck and apologises.
"Nah it's alright. I was kidding."
"Oh."
"Delivery for Avatar Korra!" An old lady comes waddling her way towards us with a huge basket of gifts in her hands. She sets it down beside Korra. "Tarlock sends his compliments and urges you to reconsider his offer."
"Tell him I, haven't changed my mind." Korra answers, resting her chin on her fist.
"Mmm-hmm." The old lady acknowledges, takes a bow and leaves.
"Who is this Tarlock guy." Bolin probes. "Is he bothering you? Huh? Cause I could have a word with him."
Korra gives a laugh and hugs her knees. "No, it's not like that. He's just some old guy who works with Tenzin on the council."
"Oh. Good. Good. That sounds better. I like that better." Bolin says with a hint of relief.
"Is he that guy, who interrupted your dinner before I did?" I ask and Korra nods.
I get a sinking feeling that Korra is hiding something from us. And I didn't like that feeling.
