It was an ordinary day, so boring. I was scribbling in my notebook when the teacher says something that catches my attention.

'Okay students I'd like you all to welcome our newcomers for this year'

I sit up and then when I see who it is (more like when I see 'him') I feel like my heart just flew into my throat.

'Oh my freaking Gawd, no way' I whisper as I gawk at him. My friends Deina and Louis look at me with  What-the-hell looks on their faces and I just nod, Damn I'm speechless!

'Hi everyone, my names Elms...Elms Trevor' he says looking at the floor. At the same instant Barrie and Leslie both stumble into the classroom. The boys all lock eyes and I feel my guts twist inside.

I'm putting my notebook up in a hope that he doesn't see me, when all of a sudden my teacher, Ms.Ginis says 'Lola, would you be kind to give our new friend the school tour?'

At the sound of my name his head snaps up and we lock eyes, he throws me a smirk. Oh God he's so grown more annoying but a little cute I'll admit. Ugh no! Yes out of your league and besides he's a play boy, why'd you even think he'd like you in 5th grade?! I yell in my own head. Still in my own world my thoughts are disrupted.

'Lola?' Ms.Ginis asks again
I quickly glance at her and nod. Getting up from my seat Deina gives me a 'good luck' glance while Louis sent death glares at him... I look up to see Leslie tense and Barrie just about ready to knock him out.Oh my life! It's only Wednesday. I walk past when I turn to see Leslie and Barrie holding him by the shirt. "Try anything funny and I'll make bury you under the concrete" said Leslie in a threatened tone. "Guys" I said as they both looked at me "chill, I can handle his sorry ass anyway" I say shrugging as I walk off before they say anything else.

I hear running and Elms catches up to me and starts to walk with me. "So how are you?" He asks
"It was great until you showed up" I said as I continued walking " this is the canteen" I said as I gestured to the small building and I continued the tour, not once looking at him. I really hated his guts.

Okay maybe I should introduce myself before I start sounding like a complete stranger (laughs)

My name is Lola Mia  and I'm 16 years old. I am of Papua New Guinean heritage. My story starts in 7th grade.

~ flashback ~

"Hey ro!" Barrie and Leslie called out to me as they gestured to the empty seat.
"Where have you been?" Barrie asked, Leslie giving me a smirk "dude she's not a baby"
"Well, with that playboy around I'd say otherwise" Barrie snapped before looking back at me with a questioning look.

Pffft...wasn't getting outta this one

"I was with Elms, and before you start...he wanted to apologize about the Tracy thing but I kept brushing him off, so I had to take the basket ball court shortcut to avoid him and my stupid cousin" I said rolling my eyes

"Look I know you think it's stupid that I'm being overprotective but I can't-"

"No, I get it...I'm sorry sometimes you just sound like..l-like...My d-dad" I said slowly looking down at my food as if it would have the answers.

"I'm sorry" he cooed as he pulled me into a hug "you know I love you right, best friend?" I smiled against his chest. "Hey don't forget me" said Leslie as he pulled both Barrie and I into one of his bone crushing hugs. I smiled at them both. I love my best friends. Just then Deina bursts into the cafeteria almost running into the bin on her way in. "OMG! Guys you gotta see this right now!Elms is about to send Louis to heaven!!" She squealed so loud I felt my ears catch fire. "What?!" Before she could say anything else I was on my feet and already running out, it wasn't hard to find the fight because there was a lot of noise in the main courtyard. "FIGHT!FIGHT!" The students chanted. I pushed and shoved till I was in The middle of the circle. Leslie, Barrie and Deina followed closely behind.

There they were, Elms on top of Louis as he clobbered him out cold. I ran up to him and threw myself on top of him and pulled him back, Deina rushed to Louis and started giving him CPR, the two boys threw Elms off and tried pulling me back but were too late, when he turned to face me I slapped him hard across the face. Everyone went dead silent, I looked up at him and mastered all my courage and screamed at him "I HATE YOU!!"

~ end of flashback ~

I didn't actually find out about why the fight happened but I was not planning on finding out. That memory of that fight was worse than when my brother shot a hole in the wall. "I didn't mean it" he said in a low voice, I stop in my tracks as I turn and give him a questioning look. " that thing in 7th grade" he said looking guilty. " it's okay and because of that you know why I still hate your guts" I said walking off. "I wanted to-"
"Look, I said it's okay" I said cutting him off "besides, no matter how hard to try you can't make what happened go away nor can you bring in back" I said feeling the tears build in my eyes.

Elms and I were in 5th grade when we met, he asked me out in 7th grade and broke my heart 5 weeks later. That was the same week Louis and the guys found out, Deina already knew because she was with me when we caught Elms making out with my cousin sister. Yeah I know, sucks to be me. After that day I never spoke to him and when the fight happened I completely ruled him out of my life, until today.
