*Lola POV*
I explained to her what happened and that we were neighbours and that he had my number and ect, ect. She went dead silent before screaming into the phone.
"HE DID WHAT?!"
"I thought I told you not to flip Dae"
"He kissed you on the head and gave you a full on hug, was on top of you, not that you guys had se-"
"Deina, what the Fuck...no way!" I say in disbelief
"Uh huh, I believe you" she says sarcastically
"Dae, come on...You know after what happened I'm not just gonna bounce back"
"I know that, but Beba you gotta see that even though we've been apart 4 years...he's not exactly given up on you"
"Really?, you're gonna-"
"Look, he didn't risk his life climbing up a 2 story building to see you, almost get caught by your brother and even got suspended that year when he punched Tracy. What I mean to say is...Baby girl he still feels some spark between you both but the question remains"
"And what's that?"
"Do you feel the same?"
I fall silent and think. Well I do feel like a zoo in my stomach when he's with me, I blush when I see or talk to him, plus I feel like he's changed. Maybe I do feel the same.
"I- I don't know...I think I do" I stammer
"I'll give you some time but until then Beba I think we should just keep this low key, you have seen the way Louis is around him. Bear bear and Les are fine with him it's just Louis-"
"I know it was a long time ago but what happened between Louis and Elms anyway?" I ask
"Well...Beba I think you should ask him that yourself because that's not my story to tell, it's his"
Huh, I guess we all have secrets.
"Hey Dae I'm gonna go to bed now, I'm tired...see you at school?"
"Of course Beba, won't miss tomorrow for the world"
"Kay, bye...love you"
"Love you more Beba, good night"
*the next morning*
"Guys what's happening?" I asked as I plopped down on a seat near Barrie.
"Well apparently, rumour has it that Austin's throwing a party and everyone's invited" Deina says as her eyes settle on Austin who's enjoying the attention.
Austin Matthews...him and Deina were a thing back then in middle school, just like me and Elms. That's the funny part. Austin and Elms are best friends and so are Deina and I. Who'd have thought, best friends with best friends...Well anyway, when me and Elms had our little "problem", Deina and Austin had a little bit of a brawl around the same time. Austin was thinking that Deina was going out with Louis behind his back, and that was the last straw for Deina. She broke it up and left him.
"He looks like a bloated piece of-"
"Deina, quit it. Besides he's just a attention seeker" said Louis as he held Deina's hand, she turned to him and he smiles "You deserve better anyway"
Hmmm I spy with my little eyes, a spark (laughs).
Louis pulls away quickly as Austin walks over, Deina sits up straight and faces a different direction.
"Hey guys...Deina, nice to se-"
"Get the hell away from me, before I put a mark on that pretty face of yours" Deina snaps scowling at him.
"Huh, guess I was right. Best friend Louis must be worth the trouble"
I tried to defuse the situation when Louis snaps
"Look dude, unless you wanna walk outta here with a broken nose-"
"Try me Thompson" Austin said angrily
They are inches away from each other when Elms steps between them.
"Guys come on, can we just try to get along?" Says Elms
"Move Trevor" Louis snaps angrily
I watch as Elms whispers something to Louis. He grunts and moves back to sit down. Elms turns to Austin. "Look dude we've been through a lot as friends but, you can't keep-"
"So now you wanna be all perfect and loyal?!, and all for what...some bi-"
"She's not a bitch!" Elms shouts at Austin "in fact she's a better person than all you put together!"
Austin leans closer to Elms, they're so close.
"You are making a big mistake" Austin says bitterly
"No I'm not" Elms says before turning to me "best decision in my life"
At that instant Austin punches Elms. Getting back up to hit Austin, the boys all stand in front of Elms. "So now you gonna protect this guy?" Austin says with a smirk.
Now all eyes are on us. "Hey Matthews" I say. He turns and I punch him out cold.
*Elms POV*
I'm still recovering from my injury when Austin tries to throw me another punch, trying to get up Louis, Barrie and Leslie are all in front of me in a defensive position. Austin, looking both stunned and agitated says "So now you gonna protect this guy?" Just then I hear a voice all too familiar "Hey Matthews" as he turns Lola punches him out cold.
I can't help but smirk, my girl sure is something else, not that we're together or anything. Ugh forget it you get what I'm saying.
She then rushes to my side, placing my head on her laps. Deina and the boys all crowd around me in concern.
"Oh my God, Elms are you okay?"
With that, I pass out.
*Lola POV*
After sending Austin out cold I rush over to Elms who's bleeding pretty bad.
"Oh my God, Elms are you okay?"
Just then he passes out. Okay let's go to the nurses office.
The boys pick him up and we all go to the nurses office, totally ignoring Austin.
*Deina POV*
We all crowd around Elms whose barely conscious.
"Oh my God, Elms are you okay?" Lola asks. With that he passes out.
We all rush him to the nurses office. I run up to Louis and yank back his shirt.
"Hey, what did Trevor tell you back there?"
"Deina, now's not the time to-"
"Louis please, I know you have a terrible temper but for some reason whatever Trevor told you back there made you change your mind"
"It's nothing Deina please"
"Louis I'm not taking No for an answer" I say sternly.
Look call me pushy but I've known Louis since kindergarten, just like the rest of the gang and surprisingly enough Elms has known Lola and the rest of us as well since then. So you could say we were quite close.
"He just told me to stand my ground and not to give Austin the satisfaction of watching me loose my temper" he shrugged as he put his hands into his pockets.
"You know you can't lie when it comes to me" I say sighing as I walk over to the nurses office.
He calls out to me "Hey Dae, you know I love you right?"
I smile as he catches up to me, interlocking our fingers as we both walk to the nurses office.
If only you knew...
