Chapter 2: Hands

As I walked into the apartment, the first person I saw was a smirking Mary Margaret. I looked at her questioningly. "What?" I laughed, pretending not to know exactly what she was smiling about.

"Oh, don't! How'd it go?!?" She asked, smiling like a crazy person. I sighed and smiled, "Well... I would tell you, but because you left me alone with him, I won't," I said with a smirk, heading off to bed.

"Emma! What happened!?!" She laughed. "Goodnight, mom," the 'mom' shut her up, and I went to bed, happy for the first time since returning to Storybrooke. This was my home. Killian was my home. Tomorrow I would look at the apartment Henry found and start my new life. With my family.

In the morning, I got dressed and went into the kitchen to get breakfast, and was surprised with the sight. Sitting at the table, patiently waiting was Killian. No one else seemed to be there and I promised myself I would get back at my parents and Henry later.

"He turned around when he heard me walking into the kitchen and smiled. "Morning, love," he said happily. "Hey. Where is everyone?" I asked. "They went out for breakfast and didn't want to wake you. Henry invited me over... To keep you company," he smirked.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm gonna... I swear that kid's gonna..." His expression stopped me. "What?" I asked confused as to why he was very unsuccessfully trying not to laugh. "Nothing, you're just really cute when you're annoyed," he said.

I walked over to the table. "So... Did they bother to leave me breakfast?" I asked. "Nope," he answered. "How helpful," I sighed. We laughed together and I looked at him and smiled, genuinely happy.

I took his hand in mine. "Come on, let's go," I said. "Where?" He questioned. "We're going... For a walk," I decided. "Oh, you mean a date!" He said excitedly. "Sure, fine, just don't make me change my mind," I said pulling him out the door and locking it.

We walked hand in hand down to the docks and sat down on a bench. We sat like that for a while, just the two of us, my head on his shoulder, enjoying the moment. "I'm sorry," I said after about ten minutes.

"What? Why?" He said, looking confused. "For... Being an ass. For taking so long to tell you the way I feel. For breaking your heart again and again. I don't know why you still... Why you still love me," I said, tears starting to fall. What was wrong with me the past few days?!? I had cried more than I'd done anything else!

"But that's just it," he said, looking at me with those beautiful blue eyes. "I love you, Emma. Since the first moment I met you, I've loved you. I always will," he said. I smiled and kissed him. After another five minutes of sitting on the bench, occasionally talking and laughing about out past, I looked up at his face.

"We should go get something to eat," I said. "As you wish," he said. I laughed quietly. "We really need to watch Princess Bride together," I said. He looked at me questioningly but I just smiled and he helped me up and we walked to Granny's.

When we walked in, the place was pretty full. My parents, brother and son were all sitting together, laughing at a booth, the dwarves were eating at another booth, everyone seemed happy. Except one person was missing. "Regina..." In all my new found happiness, I had completely forgotten about Regina.

"Don't worry, Emma, come on, let's eat," Killian took me over to my family. "Finally!" Henry said. "I told you!" David laughed. "What?" I said, confused. They pointed to our hands. We were holding hands and they thought... Well figured out, I guess, that we were together.

"Yeah, yeah, can we not," I said, "I'm hungry," I smiled. "On it," Killian said, walking over to order food. As soon as he left, everyone at the table started to laugh. I rolled my eyes. "Okay, really?" I asked. "You honestly have no idea how long we've been waiting for this, mom," Henry whispered.

I shook my head, smirking. I got up and went over to help Killian order. After eating with Killian, my parents, Neal and Henry, I hugged Killian goodbye and ran to Regina's. I knocked on the door and waited. When she answered, I was grateful she didn't look like a heartbroken teenager in sweats. She looked like herself and that was a good sign.

"I don't want to talk to you," she snapped. "Yeah, well we're gonna talk," I said, walking in the house uninvited. I sat down on a leather couch and sighed. "You do know I'm sorry, right?" I asked. "Of course I do, it's just... Well, Robin was my second chance and now his wife is back and I don't even know if he'll tell her! I love him!" she said.

"I don't know if this is it, or what!" Regina sat down on a chair across from me and sighed. "Regina... Have you talked to him?" I asked. "No... He walked out with that woman. I haven't talked to him," she said. "Call him," I said getting up and walking over to the phone, "ask him to talk," I said, handing her the phone.

She nodded. "I'll go, okay, but call him, ask him what's gong to happen. Tell him you need to talk if you want," I said softly. "Thank you," she said. I smiled and left her house. My next stop was Gold's shop. I needed to get something important. I needed something that would make someone I loved dearly whole again. In more ways than one.

As I walked into the shop, Gold, smiled and said "Good morning, Emma," I looked at him suspiciously. "What... Do you want?" I asked. "Nothing, I'm just happy to be back," he smiled. I shook it off, and started looking around. "It looks like it is you who wants something," Gold said, "what?"

"Hand," I said. "Excuse me?" He said, surprised. "The hand," I repeated. "Hook's hand," I said. "And what makes you think I have that?" He asked. "I've been doing some research, you know, that book is very useful," I explained. "Now, where's the hand?" He started to say something but I cut him off.

"I don't want to hear about revenge you have Belle now, so shut it," I said. "That I do, Miss Swan, that I do," he said, walking over to a shelf and waving his hand, moving the shelf and unlocking something that looked like a safe hidden behind it. Inside the safe was a perfectly preserved, pale hand.

"Gross," I said. "You asked for it," he said, taking it out, and handing it to me. "No... Can't you put it in a bag or something? Please?" I said. He rolled his eyes and put it in a small leather bag and handed it to me. "What, no deal I have to make?" I asked. "Consider it a congratulations gift," he said, "for both of you. Hope it works out," he said.

"Wait, what?" I asked. He smirked, "I see more than you may think," he said creepily. "Oh, well in that case, congrats on the wedding," I said, walking out of the shop. "Pardon?" He asked, shocked. "I know a wedding ring when I see one," I said, pointing to the ring on his left hand. With that, I walked out of the shop with my boyfriend's left hand in a bag. Man, my life is messed up.
