Chapter 8: Demons (Emma's P.O.V)

"What?!?" I asked my smiling parents, sitting down at the kitchen table. "Nothing! We're just glad you've finally accepted... Him... Your feelings. True love," Mary Margaret said.

I gave her one of my "really?" Looks. "We're happy for you, but we want to talk to you..." David said. "Mom... Dad... I'm not sixteen. I'm an adult and I don't need the 'boyfriend' talk,"

"We know. And we won't give you that," my mom said, "but take it as... Advice," I groaned. "I don't want to hear this. I know you're trying to be good parents and you are it's just... I don't wanna talk about boyfriends!" I said.

"We want to tell you not to give up. True love isn't easy, but it must be fought for," David said. "If something happens, you can't give up on him. Everyone can tell he cares so much for you. We all know he's a changed man," "So do I! What are you trying to say?!?" I asked, quickly getting fed up with this conversation.

"If he does something idiotic, forgive him. Don't hold a grudge remember that you're meant to be," Mary Margaret said. "Since when do you two approve of the two of us?" I questioned. "Since he fell through a time portal for you," David said. I rolled my eyes and got up.

"Well, I have work so I'm gonna go..." "Emma!" My mother warned. "I'll keep it in mind okay?" I said. She smiled and nodded. Good god, my parents were insane. Trying to give me the boyfriend talk? I'm 30 for crying out loud!

I didn't really know where I to go, so I went to see Regina. I don't know, I felt like I needed to talk to someone who understood going through the death of a loved one and moving on. Even though I have mostly moved on from Neal, I'm still... Depressed about his death.

When I got to her house, I knocked on the door, but she didn't answer so I let myself in. "Regina?!?" I called. No answer. I checked her kitchen, living room, upstairs, but she wasn't there. Weird, because the door had been unlocked. I went into her living room again. There wasn't any sign of struggle, but clearly something was off.

I called her cell phone. No answer, and I was getting worried. I hadn't come across any clues. Had Elsa taken her? Why would she, she was after Killian... I wasn't worried about him though because of the cloaking spell Regina had put on him.

I left the house, driving to the park to get Killian's help me. When I pulled my car up beside the park, I took a moment to watch Killian and Henry. They were laughing and playing with Henry's wooden swords and they both looked so happy. I was sorry that I had to stop them from their fun, but I needed help.

"Hey, guys!" I said, trying to sound as optimistic as possible. "Mom! Hey! Did you know Killian thought dad to sword fight!?! He's awesome!" Henry exclaimed, looking at Killian. I smiled "No, actually, I didn't," I said.

"Swan, what's wrong?" Killian asked. I sighed, "I went to Regina's. The door was unlocked and she wasn't there, I checked the entire house. I'm worried," I said, glancing at Henry. "Did you check her vault? She might be practicing light magic," Henry suggested. "No... Come on, let's go," I said.

Henry looked at me in awe. "What?" I asked. "You're letting me come? Finally?" Henry asked. "Yeah, I guess. Just... Don't get in the way if we run into someone," I said with a smile. He hugged me, "Thank you!" He said.

Killian looked at me uncertainly. I shrugged, "You're almost thirteen, kid. It's time you can start helping," I said as we walked to the car. On our way there, Henry read some of "The Princess and the Pirate" to us. As he read my favourite part, Killian took my hand.

"As the princess finally got to be one, she slowly started to fall in love with the pirate. Her pirate. They danced at the ball, despite the danger, and she was lost in his eyes.
She didn't want to admit she had just fallen in love, but she let a tiny piece of herself accept it," Henry read.

I couldn't help but smile like an idiot. Killian saw my expression and laughed. I rolled my eyes with a smile. See, this is what I mean! I can be in the process of trying to find someone extremely important and all it takes is the mention of Killian and I completely forget about it.

The same thing happened when we were talking about the danger Elsa could pose and Killain told everyone about the True Love's Kiss and all I could focus on was him. It kind of annoyed me because I couldn't focus, but I hadn't felt like this in so long. Since I was dating Neal, really.

When we finally got to the vault, I hesitantly gave Henry my gun. "Don't touch the trigger unless one of us say so, and DO NOT shoot unless Killian and I can't help you," I instructed, summoning a white ball of light in my hand. Killian opened the doors and I walked in first, Henry behind me with Killian behind him.

"Regina?" I whispered. "Regina?" I said a bit louder. There was no answer, but I could've sworn I heard a small tapping behind a set of doors. I looked at Killian and clearly he'd heard it too.

"Henry, behind me now," I said quietly. Henry ran behind me. I tried to push the door open, but it was locked. "Great," Killian sighed. "Hold on..." I said. I held my hand up to the lock, letting the flames that now danced across it melt the lock.

"Someone's starting to accept her power," Killian mumbled. "Can we do this later?" I rolled my eyes. I kicked the door open and what I saw almost made me run out of there right then. Before Henry could see, I took him by the shoulders and spun him around so he couldn't.

"Henry, you don't wanna see this. I want you to go outside, back to the car with Killian, okay?" I asked, trying to stay calm. Killian had seen what was in front of us, and he knew Henry wouldn't be able to handle it just as much as I did.

Killian took Henry, who was facing the other way, back to the car. Henry needed to go back to the car. I couldn't let him see this. In front of me, in a puddle of blood was Regina, and beside her was someone I never wanted to see again. Pan.
