"See you guys." Michael calls after Luke and Ashton as they jump into the front seats or Ashton's car. He closes the door as they pull out of the drive and walk up the stairs to his room falling on his bed face first as we walked in.
Michael was on the verge of sleep, when Ollie's barking woke him from his almost dream state. He wasn't happy, Michael was so close to his dream, he was starting to see the forest coming into his view, but now he must see what the annoyance is this time for Ollie to be barking like he is.
"What is it this time Ollie?" Michael huffs as he walks to the kitchen door. He pulls open the sliding glass door watching as Ollie runs out and right to the line of the yard and Forest.
"Ollie, come away from there dammit dog." Michael grumbles pulling on his shoes and grabbing Ollie's leash, walking out into the yard to the dog. "Ollie come here right now." Michael snaps and points. The dogs just looks at him before barking at something in the forest.
Michael groans in annoyance before walking over to the dog completely. "How many time, do I have to do this Ollie? It's getting old!" Michael exclaims clipping the dogs leash and collar together. As the dog continues to bark Michael watches the forest for a few moments. It's the closet he's been to it in years, other then his dreams. I wondered what exactly was out there. From what he had seen on Google Maps, the forest goes for miles, it seemed never ending.
Michael opens his mouth to say something to his dog when he see's something move from behind a tree. Michael closes his mouth and watch's the spot seeing if whatever it was would move again. Ollie barking making Michael jump, but his eyes don't move from that spot.
Then he see's it. Michael was sure he saw a human run from tree to tree. He had not a doubt in his mind. Someone was in the forest, and Michael only prayed that it was the boy from his dreams. He doesn't say anything, just watching as the person runs through the forest. He was sure they had seen him and knew he was watching them; but he wasn't caring, he was just fascinated. Never in his life did he think he'd see a person in forest, he didn't see many animal in there even. It was normally herds passing through and going to a different part.
"Come on Ollie, we've got some preparing to do." Michael grins to himself pulling his dog inside his house. Michael now had it set in his mind.
He was going to go out into the forest. He was going to try and find whoever it was that he saw.
"Michael that's crazy. There isn't a single human soul out in that forest." Luke says over the phone to Michael. Michael had called Luke and Ashton to tell them about the boy he saw, he didn't tell them that he was going to go out there and look for him.
"Luke's right Michael, if there is someone out there, it's probably one of your neighbors out getting fire wood." Ashton said agreeing with Luke. Michael knew they wouldn't believe him, it wasn't a shock. Their parent's had some things set in their minds. Both of their parent's were very religious, not that Luke or Ashton normally listened to their parent's about things like that, but some things they did.
"If it was one of my neighbors they would have said hi and not just ran away. Ollie would have walked up to one of them. I'm telling you there is someone out there." Michael fights back to his friends. He wished they believed him, he was hoping that he could tell them that he was going to go into the forest, but that was most defiantly out of the question with how they are reacting to this.
"You know we want to believe you Michael, but it just doesn't make sense." Ashton sighs on his end of the line.
"Just don't so something stupid like go out there alright? We'll talk to you tomorrow when we get to your place." Luke says ending his line. Ashton says a quick good bye before ending the call completely.
"Thanks guys. Mean's so fucking much." Michael sighs to himself looking down at Ollie. "You believe me don't you buddy?" The dog turns it's head to the side while watching Michael, which makes it's master sigh again. "And you also don't even know what I'm saying. Thanks buddy." Michael gives the dog a sad smile before closing his backpack. While he was on the phone with Luke and Ashton, he was packing his bag to go out into the woods. All he had packed was an extra coat, a first aid kit, and a couple of other things that he thought he might need.
"Alright buddy, let's go for a walk." Michael says clipping together Ollie's leash and collar once again and walk out of his house to the back yard. Michael stands at the edge of the forest looking at he. He could easily turn around and go back inside, but Michael couldn't do that. To him he felt that he was far too deep into this to turn back now.
Taking a deep breath, Michael takes his first steps in the forest.
