Chapter 19: Slurred Words

I sat up as I watched Penny get dressed. I could never get enough of it.
His body.
His warmth.
It's like a thick blanket on a cold winters morning. Like the hot chocolate that glides soothingly down your throat. It was like that.

There was something about the way he would put on his suit. I loved it. Most importantly I will miss it when he's gone.

I stood up, my body was still bare.
Thomas walks into the room with the daily food basket. Catching a glimpse of me naked.

Penny still wasn't even fully dressed either. I quickly cover myself up. Turning red from embarrassment.
Penny turned around quickly, still half naked he chased after him. I could hear the commotion going on as I quickly got dressed.

When I was finally ready I made my way out there. Penny had him in his grip. Thomas gasping for air.

"I DIDNT SEE ANYTHING I SWEAR!" Thomas cried out.

"YOU COME IN WHEN I TELL YOU TO. SHE'S MINE, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!MY EYES ONLY!! MINE!!" Penny growled as he finally let Thomas free.

Thomas coughed and gasped for air. He nodded his head in agreement.

I was behind Penny and reminded him that he was still not fully dressed. I walked up to Thomas and penny gave out a low growl.

"Thank you, Thomas." I say as I took the basket from his hands.

I made my way to Penny and grabbed him by the arm, pulling him into the room.
I sat the basket down on the mattress and stood in front of Penny with crossed arms.

"If you want him to stay and help, you can't be scary." I scolded at him.

"By the way, you shouldn't be using your energy penny." I continued.

"He saw you, and you're mine." Penny said with an angry face.

"Fair enough. Not to mention he saw you half naked too, and you're mine." I said as I unfolded my arms.

Penny just stood there with an annoyed look on his face as I went on.

"How are you feeling?" I asked.

"Angry." He replies.

"Besides that, Penny. Come on." I exclaimed.

"I feel...fine." He speaks out.

"Come here." I say as I extended my arms out.

Penny begins to walk towards me, taking my hand. I walk into him, going in for a big hug. I tighten my hug and he hugs back firmly.

"What would I do without you?" Penny groans.
I smile ear to ear into his suit as I hugged him tight.
Penny grabs me by my shoulders and backs me up to look me in the eyes.

Penny was about to speak but instead falls to the ground.
I gasp and kneel down to pick him up. He was too heavy for me to lift up by myself.

"THOMAS!" I shouted.

Thomas comes running into the room and stops suddenly as he sees Penny lying on the floor, unresponsive.

"Help me pick him up Thomas, please!" I panic.

Thomas rushes over to me and we try to roll Penny on the mattress.

After many attempts we finally get him on the mattress. I put my ear to his chest and listen.
His heart was still beating slow.

"He must've fell unconscious. He has been weak." Thomas says.

I nod my head and bite my lip in agreement.

"Perhaps we should let him sleep." Thomas suggests.

"Yeah. Sure." I respond.

"Come on, Let's leave him be until he wakes up again." I say as I make my way out, bringing Thomas with me.

We bring out boxes that we found within the pile of junk.

"Sit." I say to Thomas.

Thomas takes a seat and looks around nervously. Tapping his foot on the damp floor.
I also take a seat next to him.

"Hungry?" I ask him.

Thomas nods his head no, still obviously nervous.

"Why are you so nervous?" I questioned.

"It's just that....you're here, you know? I'm not supposed to be this close to you. I get in trouble. " Thomas mutters.

"Oh. Well, I'm sure you'll be fine......I'm sure you must have a lot of questions. After all, all you know is that you need to bring food everyday down a sewer." I say.

"Well yes, I have many questions. D-do you mind if I ask you a couple?" Thomas stutters.

"Go for it" I say while crossing my arms and leaning back.

"Okay. Well, what exactly is he?" He said with a little fear in his face.

"I can't tell you exact, since I don't even know myself. But what I can say is that you get what you see. .......He's not a bad creature Thomas...Simply misunderstood." I respond.

"Is it true that....you're, well....pregnant?" He said as he looked down at the ground.

"Yes." I said simply.

Thomas looked a little disappointed. I'm not sure why.

I kept answering Thomas' burning questions which made time fly by. Before  I knew it I heard a loud groan and I instantly knew it was Penny.

I rushed up and ran into the room. Penny was sitting up on the mattress.

"Are you ok Penny?" I ask as I put my hands on his face.

"Thomas!" he calls out.

Thomas walks in the room and stands several feet away.

"You talk too much....now let us be and go home." Penny says as he stumbles to get up.

Thomas walks out and leaves.

Penny gets up and starts walking around with his hand on his chest.

"Penny? What's wrong?" I ask.

He doesn't answer. Instead he takes a deep breath in and walks towards me.

He makes me lay down on the bed and kneels down. He places his hand on my stomach and kisses is gently. Penny makes his way to my face and places his forehead on mine. Making our nose tips touch.

I was getting confused at Penny's behavior.

He sits me back up and cups my face gently. His blue eyes looking into mine.

"You are beautiful." He whispers.

He brings my head into his chest. I have a listen.
Tears brim and they began to fall. There was barely any beat. I knew what this meant.

"Don't cry, my dear. Please." Penny says as he wipes away my tears but I couldn't help but continue to cry.

"It's time." Penny slurs his words....
