The whole room went more silent then before. The door swung open. Zues- he started to bark! If it couldn't get worse, the dog barked! Ugh. I need to do something! Oh, right, the bat! I got it ready in my hand. My heart beating, I was sweating. Then they opened the closet door, it wasn't two people. Not three... but four people! I quickly rushed from under the bed. "Don't hurt her!" I screamed with my bat ready.
They all slowly turned around... It was them. All of them. Karsen..., Ethan..., Ari..., Lillian...
It has been the first time in a few weeks that I have seen them. My clothes were all ripped up, blood covered in them. Stains, dirt, almost everything. They're clothes were almost spotless... I dropped the bat. I wanted to cry. I could feel my eyes get teary. Ethan rushed over to me and hugged me. I looked at my other friends and they were all crying. "I missed you." Ethan said with a sad voice. "Me to..." I said as all my friends came and hugged me. "We all missed you, so much..." Karsen said wailing with tears. My best friend never looked more sad...
"You must've gone threw alot..." Ari said with no happiness in her voice, she always was happy. It went silent. I only had one question. Where did they go? Did they really ditch me? Or did they have to leave? I need to ask them... "I have one question..." I said with a shuddering breath. "Yes, anything..." Lillian said. "Did you guys ditch... Cloud and I." I stated, firmly, firm as I could make it. It was silent. No one responded...
You could hear the creaking of the house. You could hear the wind threw the old wood. You could hear the furs on Zues move with the wind. You could hear Nicole babbling in her mind. "Did you guys ditch Cloud and I!" I yelled in frustration. It went silent for another moment. "Yes-yes we did." Karsen said with a low voice. "And why!" I yelled. "We were afraid of what was going on, we didn't know what to do." Ethan said with a sad tone.
"So you didn't even wait a minute! The only time you waited was for each other to get out of the window!" I crossed my arms in frustration. "We didn't... we ran to the police station and grabbed a cop car... we got lucky..." Ari mumbled. "Well I didn't! I was ditched by my own 'friends' left with a guy in a wheelchair! I don't even know if Cloud is alive! I did everything to protect him. Not to mention I was basically sexually harassed by some old guy! About to be left with a toddler to take care of." I yelled my lungs out, but no to fast, I wanted to make sure they got every single word.
"We are sorry." Lillian stated. "Is Cloud safe?" Ari asked. "I don't know. Why are you asking this to me. It's like its the only thing important to you!" I said. I was disappointed and confused. "Were here for you now." Ethan stated. "No your not. you ditched me out to die. Just look at me!" I said. I grabbed Nicole and placed her on my back. I grabbed my brown backpack. "Please! You won't survive by yourself!" Karsen said sincerely. "I've done it so far." I stated as I told Zues up. "You won't be able to forever. We have a camp ground. There is eventually going to be more and more walkers. You can't take them all down!" Ari said blocking the door.
I shouldn't give them another chance. Not after I know what they did. But I did anyway. "Fine..." I said. They gathered their stuff and guided me to the camp. They talked back and forth, about random stuff. I didn't say a word. If it was anything, it was to Nicole. Saying 'Don't worry were going to be fine!' or 'We will get you some food when we get there!' I just wanted to get some good sleep. Just once. But I never could get that, I was always on watch. Maybe I can now.
As we walked I looked at not the scenery. But the quietness. Well besides them rambling to each other... "Were here!" Lillian screamed in joy. They un-looted their big backpacks. "We don't have any extra space for you to sleep... so just for a few nights sleep under a tree..." Ari said with a gloomy tone. "Don't worry, we will get you something soon." Karsen said. I didn't respond. I guess I am on watch. Again...
I watched them go in their tents. Karsen, Lillian, and Ari got their very own tent. Ethan got the other. Once didn't make since. I mean they are the same size, why didn't one of the girls ever go in Ethan's tent? Even if he is a guy. I questioned no more. I put Nicole down and my backpack down. I sat down by a tree and put Nicole on my lap. Zues fell asleep on my legs. Nicole soon went to sleep. I then fell asleep. Threw the night I heard crickets and leaves swaying. Even if I was asleep. Maybe I wasn't entirely. I heard a big slam by the fire.
