The guy sitting in front of me, with his hand covering his face to hide the dark red blush that had become so apparent on his face, averted his eyes.
Seeing him blush so furiously, I myself started feeling less embarrassed.
"Vincent?", I whispered softly.
"Edla, sorry I don't know when my arm....I...not....purpose", he replied me in a flustered tone. He looked as if his head was going to blow up any second now.
"C-calm down, don't worry. You don't need to apologize for it", I said in an attempt to cool him down but of course I failed.
I got up from the bed. His eyes were on me as I picked up the water jug from the bedside table and toppled the contents on his head.
He blinked and looked at me for a moment, trying to register what happened.
3...2...1...and blast off!
"What the hell is wrong with you!? Why did you do that!?", he asked me in an extremely angry tone.
S-scary! Damn scary...
"Cooling you down?", I answered while scratching the back of my head. I took in his appearance. He looked so cute with his hair dripping wet like that.
"Like a wet kitty!", I accidently ended up saying out loud what I was thinking and covered my mouth.
"Like a wet...what?", he asked, raising his eyebrow.
"Uh nothing."
He got up from the bed without uttering another word and started walking towards the door.
"Hey! Vince I'm sorry! Don't be like that!", I called out after him.
Without a reply, he was gone.
I frowned as I sat back onto my bed.
My bedroom door soon opened again and a flood is what came in, and I drowned.
Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration. It was Vincent and he had emptied an entire bucket of water on top of me. I was soaked from head to toe.
"Vincent!", I looked at him accusingly.
He shrugged as he said, "payback." A grin intact on his face.
"I'm going to get you for this."
"Your head looks like snakes are coming out of it", he pointed out with a straight face.
I glared at him.
He smiled at me before saying, "be ready tonight. I'll take you somewhere."
I threw my pillow at his face but he easily dodged and said, "see ya", as he left my room, closing the door behind him.
I sighed as I got into the hot shower.
It's sort of fun in this world...I think I like this place. I'm so glad I ended up with these guys. This place feels more like home than my own home did.
I changed into some dry clothes and was about to go outside when I heard a knock.
"Come in", I said in a loud voice.
Erinor came inside and asked me, "young lady, care to join me? I'm going looking for some mushrooms with Ian."
"Do you even need to ask?", I replied with a grin.
The three of us headed out.
"Why is the squirt coming with us?", Ian asked.
"I'm not a squirt and I'm coming because I can", I said while sticking out my tongue at Ian.
Ian snorted and said, "childish..."
I jabbed my elbow in his ribs.
"What the...", he glared at me before smacking my head.
I tugged at Erinor's sleeve, "Eri, Ian hit me."
"What are you complaining to him about? You started it!", Ian said as he smacked me again.
"Ian, you shouldn't treat her this way", Erinor scolded Ian, while I stuck out my tongue at Ian from behind Erinor's back.
"Look at her. She's so innocent. Where do you find the heart to hit her?", Erinor continued.
Ian glared at me and smacked me again. I kicked him in the leg while whining, "Eri!"
Erinor let out a sigh, "stop acting like kids!"
I pouted but listened to Erinor and walked beside him.
"Eri, why are we looking for mushrooms?", I asked him.
"They aren't the normal type. They aren't that hard to find but they are difficult to collect. They are magical mushrooms so we have to use magic to collect them. They are a delicacy. We will get paid on delivering them", Erinor explained to me.
I replied him with an "oh."
"We are there, young lady", Erinor said pointing to a huge patch of glowing mushrooms.
"Wow! Pretty!", I exclaimed.
I stood behind them, watching them as they used spells to collect the mushrooms.
What's that...???
I could hear a melody from somewhere nearby.
It sounds so beautiful...it's as if...
My body started moving on it's own as my feet carried me away from Erinor and Ian. I tried calling out to them but my mouth wouldn't budge. My feet were out of control.
I walked a while, before a river came in sight. My feet, out of control, led me closer to the river. As I was walking near the river, I think I heard someone shout out my name.
I fell into the river. Sinking into it. I held my breath for as long as I could but soon I opened my mouth and bubbles formed in the water. I accidently ended up inhaling water. Things had started to get blurry and I lost conciousness.
I awoke to the warmth of something on my lips. I opened my eyes and came face to face with Vincent who removed his lips from mine and looked at me.
"Y-you are awake?", he stuttered and scratched the back of his neck blushing.
I blinked before realising what had probably happened. I faintly remembered that I was drowning.
Then, that means he saved me...
My hair and clothes were soaked. I looked at Vincent and he didn't have a shirt on and his hair were soaking wet. I blushed while unconciously touching my lips, and staring at him.
Then all of a sudden, he frowned at me.
"Why the heck did you go into the water like that? Are you crazy!?", he asked in his half-annoyed, half-angry voice.
"I don't...know...I heard this melody and...and then i lost control of my movements and...", I tried to explain to him, what had happened. It didn't make any sense to me at all. I wondered if Vincent would know what the melody I had heard was.
Well this is the end of this chapter. I had given up on this story but now I'm back to writing it again. Great or not, I feel like I wish to finish it. Criticism would be appreciated. Thank you for reading.
