Thank you all so much for 1k! Here's a 4.5k shaper for you xx
When I rouse I'm heavy, like gravity is ramming me into a soft mattress relentlessly."Victoruuu" a whine from behind, Yuuri's whine, sounding more Japanese than I've ever heard him before.
"Wake up" he drags the words as I become more and more aware. The morning light fills the room, Yuuri's lying splayed ontop of me, his cheek pressing between my shoulder blades.
"I'm awake Yuuri" I rasp, stretching my arms to either side of me to loosen my muscles.
"Great!" He rolls off my body, crawling till he's sitting cross legged next to me with a rather large present in his hands, it's wrapped with blue paper that shifts to the hues of the rainbow as it catches the light. Classy.
Oh. Christmas.
"Do you need help wrapping presents?" Sitting up, I rub my eyes from any remaining blur and watch Yuuri as he frowns.
"What? No. Merry Christmas Victor!" Yuuri grins wide, pressing the gift to my chest as he did with my coat just yesterday.
"Oh Yuuri, you didn't have to" I give him a dissaproving look and keep hands under the covers, not wanting to touch the gift. Yuuri's given me so much, too much. I couldn't take more.
"I know. I wanted to. Open it" he demands with a set glare behind his glasses. I sigh and take the present from him. It's soft, probably clothing. High street clothes tend not to be too expensive, it's a relief to know it's not a designer cologne or something awfuly priced like that.
With care I rip the edge of the wrapping, glancing up at Yuuri as he almost bounces exctatically on the bed before sliding out the contents. A black fold. Holding it up its immediatelly evident it's a black trench coat, made of soft fabric and looking a lot like the gray one Yuuri gave me but thicker, more quality. It's elegant, a wonderful gift.
"It's the same as the one I was wearing yesterday! Only... Your size. Do you like it?" He grins like he's the one receiving the gift, scratching the back of his neck in wait for my answer.
Yuuri could get me a single banana and I'd treasure it.
"I do Yuuri. I really do. But coats are expensive" I gather the item in my lap to see Yuuri better, thinking of how I'll convince him to return it.
"Its joint christmas and birthday. I'm allowed to spend a little more on you" he shrugs, still smiling so widely. It's such a beautiful expression on him.
"I... I didn't tell you it was my birthday"
"I Googled you"
"Oh" That doesn't sit well with me, not because of privacy or the fact that he didn't tell me but because the Internet proudly displays my achievements to anyone who looks, it lists all my junior gold medals, before I fell away. I've seen my Wikipedia page, in the very first sentence of it my father's mentioned.
I don't want him to see what I was, how useless I am now. I don't want him to see how deeply I lived in my dad's shadow, how I still hover on the edge, between light and dark.
"Happy Birthday Victor" he smiles warmly, leaning over to press a lingering kiss to the corner of my mouth before hopping off the bed and walking out of the room, "come get breakfast!"
My heart flutters a little. Yuuri's kindness, his charm, his kiss, all too much for it.
All I ever wanted as a teen was love and life. Yuuri granted me life the second we met. Yuuri granted me love last night, under the stars and in the cold air.
