"Davina!" I yell to get the young witch's attention once I enter the record shop.

"Vera? What are you doing here?" she turns around from looking for whatever it was she was looking for and gives me a confused look.

"Wow no hug for your favorite person in the world."I ask her pretending to be hurt.

"Maybe because I saw you yesterday, and don't let Marcel hear you saying that, he'll have both our heads." Davina laughs while compiling with my request for a hug.

"As if I would ever let anyone lay a harmful hand on you" I smile at her while going out of our hugging position.

"Seriously though why are you here" Davina asks me once again. My smile falters into a much more serious face alongside my tone.

"Davina I know of Mikeal" I admit in a hushed voice.

"What? How?" The Clair witch asks me alarmed.

"I sensed your power being drain in loads as of late, so I decided to investigate." I tell her honestly in calm tone.

"Vera I'm begging you don't tell Marcel, he'll tell Klaus and the Mikaelsons will no doubt end me."Davina expressions become terrified as her body stiffens still alarmed and on edge.

"Hey, hey relax as I said before I would never let anyone harm you. Plus I am not exactly that family's biggest fan, in fact I'm here to ask you if you need any help." I give her the sweetest, sincere smile I can to reassure her that I do in fact want to help her as much as possible.

"Y-you want to help me take down the Mikaelsons? Why?" The blue eyed girl asks me now confused.

"That family took away my happiness on multiple occasions, I've wanted nothing more than to see their demise for years." Davina looks at me with a sympathetic smile but curious eyes. "Maybe I'll tell you more later now back to Mikeal."

"Right, well I need to find a way to remove the connection from the original's sired if not we lose Josh and Marcel as well."

"Hard spell."

"Hard to find too." Davina says with a sigh clearly frustrated and exhausted over the whole thing.

"Well you have me and the whole Spears coven behind you Davina Claire so the real question is are you ready to be a bad arse?" I tell her with a confident smile in an attempt to lift her spirits.

"Always. Meet me in an hour at the church attic so I can fill you in deal." Davina tell me with a contagious determined smirk.

"I'll see you there ,bye dear." I wave goodbye and begin on my way out the door.

"I'm sorry darling I didn't see you " I hear after bumping into a hard surface I now see is a person. I look up to find a dirty blond, blue eyed boy with a charming accent looking down at me. While he is apologizing to me out of the corner of my eye I see a flirty smirk prominent in his features, but once I look up to meet his gaze I watch his smirk not falter but completely change as his lips part and a mesmerized look takes control of his features.

I mumble a polite "sorry" and begin to walk away finding the way he is looking or rather gawking at me quite creepy.

"Wait let me help get your shirt cleaned up." he calls after me once I begin to walk away.

"What are you talking about my shirt is perfectly-" I begin to say before I get cut off with the feeling of a suddenly wet material sticking to my body. I look down to find that out of nowhere my shirt is indeed soaked in what smells to be tea.

"See I told you so" The blond shrugs. I could have sworn I did not see any liquid in his hands yet he had managed to stain my shirt after we bumped into each other which means....

"Who are you and what do you want with me" I use my magic to lift and hold the blond on the brick wall in the alley next to the shop I was previously in.

"Whoa there, didn't take you for a witch, vampire maybe but not a witch." The blond puts his hands up in surrender while grunting in pain yet not answering the question.

"Maybe I'm both, giving me that many more options as to what to do with you if you don't answer me" I show off my fangs trying to scare him into telling me what I wanted. " Really would be such a waste of power and not to mention what a shame it would be mess up such a pretty face so tell me what I ask blondie."

"Alright, alright my names Kaleb, and the only intent of mine was to talk to the most beautiful girl I have ever laid my eyes on " I hesitantly release him from my magical grip not seeing any indication his goal was harmful.

"Oh well then, I partially apologize but you really do need to work on more chivalrous ways to grab a girl's attention.  I'm Vera if you must know" I go to give him my hand to stand but he does not take it.

"No need to apologize for trying to stay safe love." He tells me kneeling and taking the hand I had previously offered to kiss it with a charming smile. "Am I doing any better at chivalrous now love."

"Definitely a step up from bathing me in tea." I give a small genuine laugh. "Are you are alright by the way" I ask not wanting to have hurt him.

"Yeah don't worry about me. Though I must admit I am curious as to what you are other than breath taking of course." He flirts keeping on a devious smirk that almost felt familiar. This along side the reassurance that he is in fact alright causes the corners of my lips to lift into a small smile.

"You're not from around here are you?" I ask finally relaxing, at least as much as possible.

"What gave me away?"

"Well considering the stunt you pulled back there you are either vampire or witch and since you are not burning alive, yet I am not feeling the presence of any daylight ring I'll assume witch. Of course I don't recognize you meaning you are not from my coven and since you haven't tried to kill me yet I'll take a guess and say you and the other coven aren't friends either. Leaving only one option since there are no solo witches at the moment in the city." I shrug for some reason feeling the urge to impress the stranger

"Wow you're good, but what do you mean your coven?" The blond continues to interrogate me. If he were asking any different questions everyone doesn't know the answers to I would no question left by now but if I'm being honest I am kind of enjoying the casual conversation.

" Well I never did tell you my last name did I? Perhaps you'll recognize it, Vera Spears at your service." I curtsy after saying my name using the gray high waist skirt I have on as a pretend gown.

"Spears? As in the witch who made her own coven to rival the normal one. I thought that was just an old myth." Kaleb asks an astounded look on his face fascination evident in his features.

" Well it's no myth I assure you as that witch is my great grandmother, allowing me with our family magic and less strict ideals to be what I am." I explain like I have many times before.

"Wait that makes you..."

"A vampire witch running a coven? Indeed I am; impressed yet?" I wink at him. The moment I do I get a terrible feeling in my gut of guilt and regret, all the memories of my happiest and saddest times that haunt me flooding in. What am I doing? I promised him I was his for the whole of eternity, until the sun dies out and both our lungs give out and yet here I am flirting with a tourist when I should be finding ways to avenge him. I cannot fail him, I refuse to let him down as his horrid family has done so many times. He deserves better, I must be better.

"I defined impressed the moment I saw you." He flirts back breaking me of my thoughts back into present reality only now with a clear head and my priorities in order.

" I apologize for the strangling once again but I really must be going now." I excuse myself from him not daring to make eye contact before flashing away from the alley to the room I use as a coven head quarters to research spells. I spend the whole of the hour trying to erase the guilt from my mind to no avail before going to meet up with Davina and make progress towards my real goal, avenge or save.
