I was being led by Aizen to Szayel's lab. When we arrived, I was told to wait where I was. After what seemed like forever I decided to look around. There were all kinds of chemicals about. I came across a particular green one.

It was bubbling even though there was no burner underneath. I picked it up and took a sniff of it. It smelled like, "Strawberries? I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't this."

"What are you doing?" asked a voice. I panicked and dropped it out of shock. I turned around to see myself with black clothes.

I wasn't sure how to respond, "W-what?" I crouched down to pick up the mess, "If it's about the chemicals I'm so..."

"You're a dog to Aizen," he interrupted.

I flinched, then continued to pick up the broken glass, "I don't know what you think you're talking about, but I'm not Aizen's dog." I flinched as my hand was cut by some glass.

"You come to his beck and call, and you let him have his way with you," he glared at me, "He's the enemy."

"Shut up," I snapped, "Why was he even my enemy in the first place?"

The other me spat, "He tried to kill Rukia! He used both you and Rukia in a plot to get more power."

"Who's Rukia?" I asked. "Why would her life mean anything to me? Why does she make me an enemy of Aizen?"

"She's the one who gave you your powers," he yelled.

"Power?" my head started to hurt.

He nodded, "Yes, the power to fight hollows! The power to protect your family and friends."

I screamed out my lungs as my head pounded, "Shut up, I don't want to hear any more." I covered my ears, "Shut up, shut up, shut up!" I could feel tears fall down my face, "Shut up, shut up, shut up!"

I felt my hands being forced away from my ears, "Ichigo!" I saw Aizen crouching down. He had a concerned look on his face.

My breathing was ragged, "Aizen?"

He hugged me and held the back of my head. "It's alright, calm down."

I squeezed him tight, "Aizen," I broke down completely, "I'm sorry I shouldn't have touched anything. I should have just waited patiently. I should have..."

I was interrupted by Aizen kissing me, "Just calm down," he wiped away my tears. "It was my fault for thinking you could stay in that room for so long by yourself."

His words stung a bit, "Sorry," I apologized lowering my head.

He sighed, "I brought you here to run some tests," he lowered his head to get a better look at my face, "Do you think you can still do them?"

I nodded, averting his gaze.

He pulled me to my feet, "Then let's begin."

He led me into a room with a strange chair. As I was seated in it, Szayel hooked up wires to me. I felt a needle pierce my arm.

I could feel myself get drowsy, "What's happening?" I could see Aizen's lips move but I couldn't hear him. I watched as everything faded to black.

Once again I was in my inner world. This time it was raining.

"I bothered you so much that it rained," I turned to see the other me from before standing there, staring at the clouds.

"Who are you?" I asked, placing a hand on my sword.

He turned towards me, "I'm your memories, and with them your resolve."

"My resolve?"

His hand was up against my chest as he appeared before me. "You can't keep rejecting who you are."

"But I'm scared," I admitted.

He sighed, "So your promises are so flimsy that you'll back out as soon as things look bad."

I took a deep breath, grabbing his wrist I stared straight into his eyes, "No."

He smirked, "Good."

Memories started rushing into my head, including Chad, Orihime, Uryu, Renji, Byakuya, and a few others from the Soul Society. Urahara, Ururu, Jinta, Yoruichi, Ganju, Kukaku, and Tessai.

I finally remembered Rukia, how she gave me my powers, how she helped me save my family. How I went to the Soul Society to save her. How I fought my way through to save her.

Then I remembered Aizen.
