Chi-Chi's POV

Awaking to the bright sun peering into the window I tried to stretch out but realized I was pinned down. What wait I can move again! I thought to myself. Getting a feel of what was holding me down it didn't take long before I remembered what had happened last night. My mate had crawled into bed with me and pulled me close to him. Opening my eyes I could see a muscular arm wrapped around my waist as his legs were tangled with mine. Smiling to myself I began stroking the arm that was gingerly wrapped around my waist. Feeling his breathing pick up I knew he was waking up. His hot breath on my neck sent shivers up and down my body.

"Good morning Mate how do you feel?" came a husky laced with sleep voice. He raised his arm and untangled his legs from mine. Stretching himself out he got up from the hospital bed.

Turning over my eyes met his. Sucking in a quick breath I knew without a doubt that this was indeed the man I was to be with. But would he accept and keep my secret? "I uh slept very well. Um thank you for your help and your care but I really should be going." I suggested.

Looking at me I could see his eyes flash a dark almost scary color. "Your not going anywhere Mate please stay with me." he growled out. Causing me to shiver I knew he wasn't evil but he to had a secret that he kept.

Smiling up at him I too flashed my dragon eyes at him. "If you insist Mate," I growled back. "But my name is Chi-chi." Sitting up from the bed I felt a slight tug on my wrist. Looking down I saw the IV in my wrist. Reaching down I pulled the tape off and pulled out the needle. Standing up I walk over to my still frozen mate and place a gentle kiss on his cheek. "Were can a girl get some food I'm starving?" I whispered into his ear.

Finally snapping out of it he came towards me. " What exactly are you Chi-Chi?" he asked quietly. He expression was almost enough to make me want to tell him everything.

"I'm not sure I should tell you, you might not like it." My head went down as a tear fell from my eye as more threatened to fall. I couldn't believe that I was falling for this man already. How could that be even possible I barely knew him. Hell I didn't even know his name much less his secret.

"Hey I didn't mean it that way I'm just curious as to what you are because I know you aren't like me. But that doesn't make any difference to me what you are I will always care about you." He said sincerely. Looking into his eyes all I could see was love and devotion in them.

Hesitant about telling him I finally spoke, "Are you human?" Shaking his head no then I knew I could trust him with my secret. "I can show you but we have to be outside for me to shift." I said unsure.

Nodding his head he took me by the hand and lead me out of the room. The house in which we were in was beautiful it looked like a mansion. "Um how many people live here with you?" I asked amazed at how big this place was.

"The last count I got was 57 but more live in the surrounding houses." he states. We walked out the front door into a court yard. The yard was well kept and planted with a fully functioning garden.

"Um is it possible to get some privacy though? I don't wish to shift in front of so many people." I asked uncomfortable.

Looking into my eyes he nods his head. Picking me up bridal style he takes off at an unusually fast pace. Clutching onto my blanket tightly I close my eyes. A little scared about what he would think about me when I shifted into dragon form I sent up a silent prayer.

Damon's POV

I woke up when my mate began stroking my arm. I was so happy that she had finally woke up from this unknown sleep. My wolf was going crazy in my head wanting to mark her that I couldn't help but breath in deeply taking in her wonderful scent of orchid and honey. I could feel her shiver and I knew that the bond between us was affecting her as well.

Getting up from the bed I stretched out my ache muscles. Nearly having a heart attack when she suggested about leaving me. I couldn't hold my wolf at bay and I knew she had seen my eyes change color when I told her not to leave. But what shocked me the most was when her eyes also changed color to a gold color with a slit running through the middle. Knowing that she wasn't a werewolf because she didn't have the sent of one I wondered what she was. Then I felt a kiss on my cheek and electricity shot through me.

Not being able to stop the question that left my lips I knew I had upset her some. Hell I didn't care what she was I still loved her with all my heart. Waiting my whole life for my mate I knew that she would be perfect no matter the species.

When she asked me if I was a human I knew that she didn't trust humans with her secret. Werewolves didn't trust humans either so I couldn't blame her for her insecurities. Humans can be so cruel to things they don't understand or fear is no wonder that so many creatures have went extinct.

When she finally agreed to letting me see her true side I was happy that she trusted me with her secret. Picking her up I carried her to a private area within my territory. Contacting my pack I let them know to clear out and give us some privacy.
