The Great Gathering

Chi-chi POV

A couple of weeks went by. As the three brothers worked together to pull all three packs together. Let me tell you it has been rough. The packs had to build three more smaller pack houses to fit all of the additional pack members. In all we now were 650 strong my mates were in the larger pack house with their betas discussing how things were going to be run from now on.

Groaning I laid down feeling rough and bloated. Closing my eyes I tried to rest but it just didn't seem to come. Shifting positions I let of another groan this got the attention of my mates. Jake, Damon and Alex walk up to me, "Chi-chi are you okay sweetheart?" Looking at Jake I shake my head no. Then a contraction hit me and I knew what was happening I was about to lay my eggs or egg. Looking up at my mates they were wide eyed. I needed out looking at the door I stand up groaning as another contraction hits me. Going outside I spot a weeping willow just a little ways away.

Walking towards it I lay down under the tree. Jake, Damon and Alex follow me outside to the tree. "Chi-chi I think we need to go back inside." suggests Damon.

Growling I shake my head no, "This is were I want to be and this is were I'm going to stay." I linked to them. They hold their hands up in surrender before backing away from me. Looking up I notice the pack doctor making his way towards us. Letting my defensive stance relax because I knew that he was only going to help me through the labor. Another pain goes through me as I meet the Doctors eyes gritting my teeth as I let out a pained growl.

"Easy Chi-chi just try and relax this should be over soon." he says soothingly. Taking a deep breath I try to relax through the pain. People started gathering around me watching me with fascination but they kept their distance giving me the much needed space. Looking around I noticed a few women had baskets in their hands each with a new blanket inside. Smiling at them I nodded my approval then another pain tightened in my abdomen. Damon takes on of the baskets in his hands and comes close. The pack Dr. was at my rear end waiting for me to lay. Damon hands the basket to him and nods in approval. Damon tenderly strokes my neck which has a calming affect on me. Jake and Alex walk up to me and begins doing the same thing. Letting out a soft purr I immediately relax as my pain seems to fade away. Laying my head down I drift away completely forgetting that I was in labor.

"Chi-chi?" a soft voice prodded. "Chi-chi wake up sweetheart. Your eggs are here. Look and see they are beautiful." Slowly I open my eyes and blurry faces come into view as I blink away the fog. Looking around I find my mates each holding a basket each one with an egg inside. One egg Damon was holding was a firery red, Alex held the one that was a deep ocean blue, and Jake held one that was a deep beautiful green. Smiling down at them I walk over and nuzzle each one and give each mate a gentle lick as I move. Fire I need to build a fire for the eggs quickly I move and build a rack to hold the eggs on and fire shots from my mouth as I light it. Picking up each egg I place it onto the fire and start guarding the fire and the eggs. Looking at my mates they have a horrified look on their faces. "Chi-chi what are you doing cooking them?" Jake asked.

"No. I'm hatching them this is how dragon eggs are hatched." I state firmly. "Don't ask me how I know I'm just following my instincts." Placing more wood under the fire. I lay down next to them protecting them and keeping the fire going. Everyone in the pack gathers around and congratulates me on the babies each one placing food down in front of me and a small gift. Nodding my thanks to each one. Happiness runs through me as I feel truly accepted within this pack of wolves.

As night begins to fall and the moon begins to rise. I notice the pack coming out of their homes and stripping down. Averting my eyes to the fire when I heard the last person shift I look up again to see everyone taking off into the forest. Howling rang throughout the night as the wolves played under the moon. Damon Alex and Jake walk up the me, "Chi-chi will you be alright while we go on a run?"

"What happen this evening why don't I remember laying the eggs?" I questioned them.

Looking at each other they replied, "We took away your pain as our own. It's a mate thing we can do that for each other." Smiling down at them I nuzzled them gently.

"Thank you guys. I love you'll greatly and I'm truly happy to be here. Yes I will be okay if you go on a run. I think you and your pack need bonding time. Have fun and be careful out there." I said lovingly turning back to the fire. Breathing on it again keeping it hot drifting off into a light sleep waking up every now and then to keep the fire going. When I awoke the next morning there was a huge pile of wood close by. I knew the pack had gathered it while they were out last night. Adding more wood to the fire I got it nice and hot before stretching my wings and taking flight drifting on the currents of warm air I rose into the sky. Hungry for breakfast I started hunting spotting a deer down below I folded my wings into a dive and went straight for it. Catching it in my mouth I rose into the sky again and went home. Landing gracefully next to my eggs I found my mates around the fire adding more wood to it. Dropping the deer I went over to them and shifted into my human form. Hearing a low growl of approval as I was surrounded by my mates.

Sorry it took so long to post I had a death in the family. I lost my uncle to bone cancer. Please comment and vote Thanks
