Dear Diary,

I met up with Josh again at the library which I now am working at. Mrs. Lancaster or -as she prefers me to call her- Ireene gladly made me take over her night shifts and some afternoon ones if I didn't have any lectures. She is a very nice petite lady somewhere mid forties with blonde hair and clean cut bangs that touched her eyes ever-so-slighty, bright red cat-style glasses and outfits to match her extraordinary personality.

Josh strolled in at 9:05 pm and almost walked past me. Blind idiot.

''Hey princess!'', I yelled at him. He turned back on his heel and his shocked expression was quickly exchanged for a full on grin.

'‘Hey’', he walked towards me,'’ I think you’re on the wrong side of the counter’'.

I was standing on Mrs. Lan- Ireene’s usual spot, sorting out some books that needed to be placed back.

‘'I don’t think so’', I smiled at him.

‘'Wait…you’re working here?’', he was slightly surprised and I wasn’t sure  if that was an insult or a compliment.

'‘Yes. Why do you sound so surprised?’'

‘'I don’t really know. I’ve never seen anyone work here besides Mrs. Lancaster but I think it’s great. Now I don’t have to bring back my books till due date’', he smirked at me.

‘'Don’t think you’ll get a pass because you’re friends with me. I can be worse than her'’. Even though Mrs. Lancaster was incredibly nice, that was only towards the people that didn’t piss her off and hours after closing. That was when I approached her. I didn’t dare come near her when she was in her Godzilla mode.

‘'I highly doubt that but I haven’t known you for a long time and I cannot wait to learn all there is to you. Unlike everything here-‘, his eyes fluttered towards the books,’' -you’re not that easy to read’'.

Oh you have no idea.

'‘So when does your shift end?’'

''Right after I put back these books’', I rolled the cart out from behind the counter started walking towards the bookshelves.

‘'Want to help?’', I asked him.

‘'Sure'’, he said and walked after me.

We put back most of the books –thankfully he was there to reach the really high bookshelves- the last section was romance. Ugh, romance.

'‘So what book are we going to discuss tonight?'’, he question while leaning against a wall whilst I was putting some more books away.

‘'I don’t know. I’ll allow you to choose one’'

‘'Oh my, thank you wise One'’, he said in a dramatic tone which made me laugh slightly.

‘'Shut up and pick it out'’

'‘Hmm'’. He started picking through the books nonchalantly and pulled one out.

''How about Tristan and Isolde?'’, he asked.  I looked at him for a while, was he serious?

'‘Sorry, I know you don’t like romance'’, he started putting the book back but I caught his hand before he could do so.

'‘No, no, no. It’s okay. Actually that’s the only book I kind of like…in the romance department'’

'‘Wow, really? I never expected you to like something like this’', he gestured towards the book.

I shrugged, '‘I don’t know. There’s just something about forbidden love that makes me ….feel'’, I looked at him, searching his face for understanding. His eyes were sparkling baby blues and I found myself staring at him. He stared back.

After that, we ended up on the floor again but there was more staring than discussing and it felt awkward. I felt like he wanted to kiss me and I’m not sure if I wanted the same. It was those god damn ocean eyes that made me flush on the inside. And his hair….his golden blonde hair that started growing again and slightly curling at the end. I wanted to brush my hands through its silkiness.

I locked up the library after checking that everyone was out and turning off the lights. It was midnight and Josh was walking me towards my dorm.  Silence filled the air again, luckily the dorm was near.

‘'So, I guess I’ll see you in class'’, he said.

'‘Yeah, see you’'
