We finally got to school after walking for like 15 minutes

I stayed outside and scan the area buses were just coming in and kids were getting out but I look to the corner of the school and saw mateo with a girl all pushed up him and a group of friends next to him.
I guess my new bestfriends caught me staring

Hailey: why are you staring at Mateo I know why you staring hes fine as hell but you look kinda hurt.

Trey: yeah you look so butthurt mamas what's happening

Pooh: y'all can keep talking but I got to go I'll see you after school

Me: remember we gone do after school I'm coming to pick you up a little earlier than usual

She nodded as we hugged
Once she left my newly found friends attitude with me

Hailey: spill

Trey: now

I looked at them back and forth and they exchanged glances
Oh what the hell I told them everything. The train ride here and how he said things that I thought he meant.

They both look back and forth

Hailey: well its fine

People were starting to go into school so we walked in too
As the new girl I expected stares but not like they were giving me. Pretty much all of the boys and even some girls look that me licking and biting there lips . All of the straight girls looked me look with snarls so I I looked at them like that right back I don't play
All this is happening Hailey and Trey just kept laughing

Me: thanks a lot for the help guys

Trey: come on let's go to the office to get your schedule

Hailey: not me I have to be early for ms. Gradezillas class

Trey: oh please you just wanna go to talk to key

Hailey: maybe maybe not I'll catch you guys at lunch

She said walking away

Trey: come on let's go he said putting his arm around my neck
He laughed

Me: what

Trey: your short

I pushed him into the wall and we continued walking once we got to the office I took a look around I was going to be in here for most of my school year so why not familiarize myself I walked up to the woman at the front desk she spoke

Her: hi is your name Kaylanni

Me: that would be me

Trey nudged me

Trey: girl let me catch you later he whispered incoming code t 

I nodded knowing teo had walked in the room

Her :well I'm going to be your guidance counselors for this year my name is Miss Janelle and you're going to be coming to me every Thursday at lunch cuz we want to make sure you have a good year here a....

I spaced out flashing back to the train ride

Miss Janelle: honey

Me: don't call me that.

Miss Janelle: alrightly then Mateo would you please take her on a tour around the school

Mateo looked at me and I look down
Mateo: my pleasure he licked his lips looking me up and down

Miss Janelle kept talking in the background handing me my schedule and my late pass to class

Me: let's get this over with

Mateo and me walk down the hallway he kept talking but I really wasn't listening cuz I didn't even care about this type of stuff

Mateo stopped

Mateo: I missed u

Me: fucking liar

Mateo: what does that mean

Me: you can't miss me with a girlfriend
I walked away but caught up to me and grabbed my hand

Mateo: its not what it seems I swear

I yanked my hand out of his grip

Me: then what the fuck does it mean. You feed me a load of bullshit and I let you. I am such a Idiot.

I walked away then turned

Me: don't even bother coming after me.
Then I walked away

Mateo POV

Wtf just happened  what did I just do I just lost the best thing that I've had in a long time she made me feel special

I slammed my fist against the locker

Me: DAMNIT MATEO

Flash back to childhood

Grandma: Mateo sometimes you lose the people you care about but you have to keep pushing keep fighting to get them back.

I kissed the cross around my neck alright grandma alright
I went back down stairs and into my first period classroom and looked to the back of the room and there was kaylanni sitting on her phone.

Kay POV
I was texting my sister to see how she was doing and the teacher called me
"Kaylanni what are you doing back there?!?"

Me:  not giving a fuck I mumbled

Teacher: excuse me?!

Me: not giving a fuck . I said raising my voice

Teacher: well I have never..

Me:* I cut her off *...gotten any dick I figured that

Mateo: miss. Crabwatch I have a note from the main office asking to see kaylanni

She shooded him off and nodded her head "please"

I walked out the class looking like a bad bitch

Mateo: come with me

Me: Mateo... Tf you though I ain't going no where with yo dumbass

Mateo looked at me with pleading in his eyes it was silent I nodded my head and he took me too a open widow on the top floor he hopped out to land on top of the roof.

Me: k. Im here what do you want

Mateo grabbed my hips and brought me closer to his body
I looked up into his eyes

Mateo: I'm sorry I don't want her its just I wasn't sure if

Me: its fine
I broke his eye contact and his grip around my hip

Me: I shouldn't have let myself fall this fast you got through some how.. Maybe ...maybe we should be friends for now

Mateo smiled his face brightened up and seeing him smile rubbed off on me

Mateo: wanna do a singing video

Me: what right now ??

Mateo: duh come on sing for me

I blushed by accident

Me: ok

Mateo grin stupidly

Me: what

Mateo: I would let you ride 😂

Me: nigga let's go back to class before they find out that we ain't in the office..

Me and mateo both walked back to class smiling widely
