Max sighed softly as he traced lines on a log. A small shiver came over him as he thought of how his parents would take him away and abuse him, like always.

"Heya max!" Neil exclaimed as he sat next to his friend.

"Oh...hey Neil" max replied.

"So waiting for your parents? Nicky already left with her mom while their still some kids left" he said.

"Yeah, I'm kind of glad that their not here." Max replied.

Then their was silence between the two kids. Max was happy of this, he didn't want to talk about what was going to happen and what happens back at home with his family, he didn't want his friend to worry.

"Helllllooooooo Neil, max!" David exclaimed

Neil waved while max just rolled his eyes. David soon stood behind both boys watching as the other kids left, waving goodbye at David and smiling. David smiling like a idiot watched max as he sighed. Neil soon got up as a car with yellow lights pulled in.

"Well that's my dad, I'll text you later max! bye David" Neil said calmly as he left the place were he sat.

David and max watched in silence as the car pulled away leaving them quite as the sun went down.

"Their not coming here David. I know them." Max sighed.

"Yes they are! They wouldn't leave you beh-" before David could finish his sentence the jaded boy interrupted him.

"Yes they would. Shut up." Max replied angrily.
David stayed soon silent, he didn't want to leave max at bad turns after the summer, after all he did make the boy happy most of the time over there after parents day, he even saw him smile more.

3 hours pass
Max and David sighed as he watched the path leading up to the camp soon blinking as he saw headlights of a car. 'Must be Max's parent, I wonder why their here so late. Everyone left even Gwen.'

"Great, hell has arrived." Max spoke.

David soon sighed as he got up, his hair bouncing a little, he saw as the car opened and a man, presumed to be Max's Father got out. He had a beer bottle in his hand and a shirt with a hole in it. His hair was puffy like Max's and he had dead, cold eyes, but they were the same color eyes like Max's. David had a chill run up his spine, something told him he should not let him get max. David had a hand over max's hair, he didn't seem to care about David doing that. Max's eyes glanced to the side as his father approached them.

"Hello sir the names David Forrest! And I'm the camp counselor" David greeted him.

His father stared at him for a little, soon the man spoke. His voice was rough and lower then David would have thought.

"Yeah, thanks for taking care of him." He said looking at max.

David flinched at the words a little as he saw the man grab Max's arms hard, he could see the boy viably shaking.

"You fucker, you should have come home by walking" he hissed at the smaller boy, "your a huge mistake ya know?"

David couldn't believe his ears, despite the words being whispered he heard them loud and clear. He looked at max concerned. Max stood lifeless, soon his father started to taunted him by saying rood things, that would hurt anyone in their heart. That is until....
